My very first wallpaper submitted to AP~~~The last one was rejected due to "Upload Error", so I am trying again...
I got my inspiration after seeing a collage based on the Avalon story...I wanted to re-create that misty and mystical feel of Avalon, while placing focus on the main character (Shana, in this case)...
After receiving much helpful comments in session zero (http://www.animepaper.net/forums/Session-Zero/61974), I made some improvements to my wall, namely I added more colors to the image (as opposed to all RED), and reduced some of the mists since some claimed that to be a bit too much...

However, I must say that I do prefer the original, all-red shana, so I have uploaded that version as well, for anyone who's interested...

As for the longitude of the project...well...I have been working on a few projects simultaneously, and since I started this wall quite a well back, I really have no idea how long I took to complete this...10-12hrs maybe?
As someone had pointed out, the sky in my wall is a bit too realistic (since I did use a real night-sky shot instead of rendering it in PS), and that it takes away some of the surreal overtone of the image itself...I don't know...what do you guys think? Should I make a more surreal and magical sky? or does the spat of realism work well with the image? (which I personally believe it does...)

Love what you got here. You say that you had a lot more red in here? Well then I am glad you did decrease the amount. The clouds are simply wonderful, and I like the leaves touch. Although It is hard to see the "dream" feeling that you are illustrating here. that dosn't change the fact that this is very eye captivating to an extent.

To be honest, this wallpaper is pretty much random. I like what you were going for, but with the current effects it's not going to make any long-lasting impressions. You seriously must rectify or completely remove the halo around the planet; there's just too much contrast and it just looks completely fake and tedious! I think you should take off some brushes, especially the leaves and vector circles located near the halo. Shana looks too overly 'burnt', but anyway - nice try!

Hmm to this is a really complicated wall to me at least, there are to many things going on which makes it pretty hard to focus on the strong parts of the wall which is obviously the scan of shana. You should keep in mind you don't need to put in a lot of stuff to make a wall paper look good. Um you also don't have one of the most common resolutions which is 1024 x 768. The only thing i like from this wall is the scan. But good job on getting it accepted? and you will gradually get better. Please don't take this comment the wrong way and think I'm just criticizing your work I'm just giving feed back.

hello, I liked the depth and impact qe used in the picture but the face of this somewhat rare Shana /(O_O)/

Well, that red colour around Shana´s hair and eyes is too much bright and I don´t like purple colour there. But other is OK.
