Greetings,
This is a wallpaper made for 'The Scrip Refinery'. I used 8 scans and stock photo from Stock.Xchng.
** _ Scans _**
[Side Note: :( The scans I wanted/needed are now in the gallery. Of Hotoko and Kotaru. v.v... That is like just crule.]
Anyways... about the Script Refinery's contest: Down to the Letter. This contest deals with having a letter or word as big as your character and your character interacting with it. It may seem simple on the outside but on the inside... not so easy. Nor was it easy for me to understand at first. Yet, eventually my brain materialized something.
Wall concept : Well, the contest is self was a bit hard having to use a 'large' letter or word as your main objective. Yet, the only thing I knew that used this type of objective well was 'scrap booking'. Which I am fairly good as doing as well. So, I went for it.
First I went tutorial shopping and found this one. I knew my character was going to be sitting. It was the easiest. Since, I knew I wanted to do an Angelic Layer wall.
After that it kinda took on a life of its own. Even thought I was still PMing August199 for clarity on the contest. She was still kind enough to tell me what I needed to know.
After a few revisions it was obvious it need something speical. That's when I went with the theme of 'journey'. Creating a 'string' to tie the 'journy' theme in. Like I would on a scrap book page.
Yet, this wasn't enough as it got rejected in AP. Then I took another look at it because I was personally confussed. So, once again I went back to August199 who can explain things in the simplest of terms. Yet, before I got the PM back from her I had actually figured it out on my own but the confermation was well worth her reply because I wasn't so sure at all that I was doing any of it right.
So, those revisions consisted of changing the black frames to colored frames. Took out a bit more in the background to make the nosie calm down. Then tried for the gallery again. Yet, I got a rejection for 'double posting' because I wasn't sure it had gone through yet. So, I got a notice from hatesyou telling me the reasons as a bot and told me I spelled 'journey' wrong. Which I did. I forgot the e. So, I want to thank hatesyou for pointing that out. It would of been majorly embarrassing to have that on my final wall.
Also, I would like to note. I wasn't sure how the names were spelled. So, I went by wikipeidia. If it really is spelled a different way. PM me and I'll fix it because these names were harder then I had thought.
So, I hope you enjoy my hard work. It was fun to make. ::Angel::
Enjoy! ::Angel::

My dear, you've misspell the word "Journey". Anyways, the wallpaper is good even though it is quite dark. And although you used too much scans.. PLEASE REMEMBER: JOURNEY NOT JOURNY.

Hum, well, thanks but the revision must not be loaded yet. I re-uploaded as soon as I seen it was accepted into the gallery. Like 5 minutes after. I actually wasn't expecting this wall to go through. So, I had the revision submitted but it got denied for double submitting. So, thank you. I know its spelled wrong. ... Still totally embarrassing the revision isn't up just yet. But check back. It should be up in at least an hour or so.

The idea is goood. But you put one of the scans in middle of her face. And the wallpaper is empty and dark.

The composition is great. But it is a little dark. I think if it were lighter, it would make a great "story book" looking wallpaper. Maybe even work on the background texture since it is blurry and doesn't do much justice for the wallpaper as a whole. I think a paper texture (maybe a light brownish color) would suit it better (Just throwing these out there for example). That would also help brighten it up. But that's just my opinion. Other than that, the characters are extracted well and the frames are nice how they are tied together.

Unique! Great idea on the background. Sometimes I think of it as a sketch in the ruins :D

Quite an inventive solution you came up with to matching the background to the scans really nice work =D

hmmm you know... I think the wall is really pretty! I just think that the texture should be softer... but besides that, it looks great =)

It looks good, but it might be better if it were lighter. Other then that, I like it, especially how you put the scans in, and the "paper" look.

The combined images fit well, but the background one seems almost too much. I feel like it may have been better to leave the background as the simple paper texture. Either way it is very nice!
