I can't believe I finished this already. It was sort of a spur the moment type of wallpaper/vector...I didn't want to do another vector for a while, but I just couldn't help myself on this one~ A friend of mine sent me some art by Yuji Kobayashi, and I fell in love with the style...so I looked through the gallery here and found this fairy one. I loved it...don't know why.
So I changed a lot of things: her expression (happy instead of surprised), her hair beads' colors, lipstick, and of course her wings. I wanted everything more colorful! So when I vectored, I used gradients and whatnot for that. Um, around 30 shape layers...I've been cutting down on them lately since I was taught how to combine the layers! XD But yeah, all shape layers, even for the outlines. ^^ I don't know why, but I didn't want to outline her hair, so that's how it is. I was lazy with the shading in her hair, so please forgive me if some of it looks odd...
As for the background, I went for one similar to the original with a forest...except I changed the colors and used brushwork for the sparkles and whatnot...think fairy dust! The texture for the trees was found here. I added some PS texture over the fairy to give her, well, some texture, too! At first I had this "go green" theme going on, and I gave everything a grass texture, but that just didn't work out. XD I think this is pretty good!! It's also for the Script Refinery's contest "Hidden Meanings." Because...well, the words are pretty unnoticeable over there on the tree to the right! Hide and seek!
This took less than a week...with like an hour's work each day. I've been horribly sick, so this gave me something to do. I hope you like it! ^_^ Comments and faves much, much appreciated!!

Hehe, you already know that I like it ^^ I liked the vector but it looks even better when put in a wallpaper! And the hair looks much better with textures and extra colors than it did as a simple gradient in the vector ^^ It took me a long time to spot the writing, so I guess your entry's OK XD My new fave parts: the wings and body shading <3 Epic win!! I think this wall is beautiful, it has sex appeal but it's done tastefully not in a Hentai sort of way it looks classy :)

The colors are just so flowing and rich, the greens mixed with the orange is perfect it reminds of the cool fall season.
The best part to me are the wings I think there wonderful, what you did with the scan is great you made the colors brighter an warmer and fading the trees more makes the background less over barring so you can focus more on the beauty of the girl.
It's a lovely wall nice work as always < 3

You can do very nice and colorful wallpapers with butterfly style. I liked the Loveless one very much, and this one is no expection. Another cool wallpaper to your collection, keep up the good work. Cheer for ya ;3 +Fav

( []-[])9Wow, cutie, the colors looks bright, n i like the colors gradients n the shading, although you said you dont like making backgrounds, but i think its pretty good. If you make a wide screen, probably the left n right side of the wings will not cut out.
