i love this wallpaper for several reasons. i like the mixture you have with both the under water and dark forest look. it looks like her wings are being hidden in the shadows and that looks cool!

Lovely wallpaper. Very traditional, yet with a small twist of creativity.

Some Critiques: - It is a detailed wallpaper, but there are some places that seem almost randomly placed together - such as some random-looking bubbles (?) in a forest setting. This is a rather disconcerting mix, but then again it could also be interpreted as creativity, which is actually pretty cool. If you wanted to express that creativity, I'd suggest emphasizing how the water relates to the forest - shafts of sunlight..etc. - To be extra critical, the lighting may be questionable - the light from the forest should make her back glow somewhat, rather than shaded. Her face, therefore, should have been the darker side. However, it could be argued that there is somehow a light down there in the water that's shining in her face.. - The title chosen for this piece is very nice and fitting, and also leaves room for the imagination to play with. However, the actual words written on the wall seem intrusive because of its blunt coloring as compared to the rather grungy presentation of the rest of the wall.

Some Nice Points: - As mentioned before, the clash of setting is very intriguiing. Great show of creativity. - The texture of the whole piece, like paper, definitely gives the feel of it being a painting that you can just "hang up" on your desktop. Very fitting for a wallpaper. - The color usage is very traditional - although the tones are dull, they form, again, a traditional feel to it, like one of those old-fashioned paintings you see at museums. - The detailed work you put into this piece really shows - i.e. the shadows of the leaves on her forehead etc. Keeps the viewer searching and entertained.

Overall this is a very pleasant piece to look at. Traditional creativity. Very nice =). +fave

I really like the look and feel of this wall. :3 Reminds me of a painting! The only thing I can complain about is the font though. Like someone mentioned before, it just doesn't seem to "fit" with the wall. Maybe something that looked calligraphic would have worked? It would have looked more like an artist actually signed it rather than something looking a little off with the way the font and text has been displayed.

A real artistic wallpaper, something to be etched on your mind when you see a stone carved statue on any art museum, and this wallpaper will come in your mind. That's definitely what I think of this wallpaper. An excellent usage of the changes of colours, though I have no idea of how this looks like in the real scan, but based on what you described, I guess you really did quite a tough job on it, but it seems to be nothing to you (maybe) because as you said, you're "playing" with it.

The forest-theme fits in well with the scan and the colors go extremely well with each other. It looks like she is standing in a small glade thanks to the brighter, right part of the wall and it adds to the feel of the wall. Very nice wall with great lighting effects. The graphics for this anime was very beautiful, imo, and you've done a great job translatingt the artist's atmosphere, artwork, and mood onto a wallpaper. Er, I have no idea what "text" you're refering to though.

To be nitpicky, I think the lighting on this wall is a bit off. If you look at the way the beams of light shines down in the background (forest), you'll notice that its angle is different from the light shining on raka's face. Or maybe it's just from another source of light, but it doesn't really matter, it's a beautiful wallpaper nonetheless.

Even though I didn't see the original scan (I would like to though), I think this wall deserves a fav :).

This is a nice wallpaper although not very original giving that there's several like this already. However the colors you chose to use are very nice and brings out a different aspect of this picture. The textures are nice but I think you went a bit too far with the filters, the grainy look, IMO, doesn't suit this scan. Other then that good job on your own version of this scan.

Seems like all the really awesome wallpapers I click of late are from well over a year ago. Anyway, I'm definately adding this to my favorites, so I just wanted to comment and say I love it! I've not even heard of Haibane Renmei, and I don't know who the girl is, but it's an excellent wallpaper. The scan choice, the color usage, the texture, the background, everything goes so well together. Entirely deserving of an S rating. Very well created!

I really like the colors in this one. I love what you did with the lighting, all those color changes worked out really well; this image has a really cool feel to it and I love it.

Very ethereal and beautiful. Very large contrast to the sounds of my parents watching some crazy action movie with a lot of sound effects downstairs and annoying me with the rumbly bass sounds... Her expression matches the colours and background really well. It sort of reminds me of this Whirlpool commercial I saw once. Anyway, this is great, I'm definately liking it. And purple is NOT awful(>_<)9

Great Job. I love art from Haibane Renmei. The character designer is a spectacular artist in my opinion. This wallpaper looks like a painting to me yet it doesn't. I guess that makes no sense but to me it does. Good color combination. I am defiantly adding this one to my favorates.
