Hello people of AP. Some of you may recognize who I am either by this wallpaper or my username. DEV IS HERE!!! DX
I made this wallpaper about 4 days ago. I think I'll just copy/paste the description I wrote in MT. I'm feeling lazy right now... :/
As you can see, I'm mixing my two favorite passions together into a single creation: my profound love for music; and my extreme interest in astronomy. I had this idea that it'd be neat to compose a song for each constellation, thought I imagine that it'd be quite time consuming. I'd do it, but I can't really write any songs. So when I came across the image of the guitar playing woman, and the celestial-like images on Matsumoto's Moe page, I realized my idea could come to fruition!
Although the color scheme of the original image is pretty solid, I wanted something different. I've been reading Changelings by Anne McCaffrey, and there's this young female character who's father is half-Inuit, half-Irish, while her mother is half-Navajo, half-Irish. They described her hair color as being dark brown with orange highlights. I imagined a pretty combinations of colors while reading, so I decided to incorporate it in my wallpaper. From there, I decided her skin should be tanned, seeing how the woman could be part-Native American. I thought she'd look good in a dark red wine blouse, with turquoise jewellery (a lot of the Native Americans in my area wear tons of turquoise). And as you can see, I stuck with that over-all color scheme, because I find it lovely... though I am a desert brat, so I find desert shrubbery appealing.
For the constellation, I just found a photograph of space. Simple, no? I tinted it purple-ish because the black was way to dark, and put a strain on the viewer's eyes. And it matches, so HA.
The textures are primarily from Bashcorpo and Google search engine. They're pretty basic, and as you can probably tell, I haven't used any home-made textures (that's probably because I mainly create techno/cyberpunk textures).
While I was working on it, I was listening to a lot of Nightwish, and they definitely had an impact on its creation. The main song that I would attribute to it's development would be "White Night Fantasy". It has a very peaceful and content atmosphere to it - something I felt was appropriate to the wallpaper.
Enjoy, folks. ^^

I truly admire the whole concept of this wall it makes it that much more special and wonderful to look at. :) The colors may seem a bit dull in the thumbnail but up close there very soft and make the girl look lovely and the astronomy aspect is fantastically done I'm really impressed by the craftsmanship. Music and art go hand in hand and when you put your great loves into one thing it can make the viewer feel what you feel, you want them to understand your passion and fall into your work just like you did and I think you did a great job portraying what you love in a very original way. A+ and a fav :)
