love the moon, somehow having a big bright circle right smack in the middle of the night gets a bit old after a while, and the grass definitely rocks!

That's GLORIOUS. I love that grass, it just breathes life. The clouds are also magnificent...

I guess the only thing is I could use some more stars in that sky. It's a relatively clear night without a lot of lights to hinder it. But hell, I'm only jealous.

Great night sky scenic wall. The grass, the glows, the clouds... they're all so "in depth" as you said you were aiming for. The colors are very appeasing and the entire scene is great. You also made the background so full and fulfilled rather than empty and blank... you did a great job~ <3

Wait...so the background was done from scratch?! Then I can only say, wow. :3 Did you use brushes for the clouds or did you draw by hand? 'Cause they look pretty great, the shades of color and the way they stretch towards the mountains. The night scene is a nice fit for the scan you picked out. Only that I find the resolution of the scan a lot higher than that of the background portrait. And the girl looks somehow a little too bright in overall compared to the dim surroundings, hopefully you could adjust the lightings a little? Still love it, though, I can so totally feel peace and serenity floating out of the picture. (The breeze and rustling grass? heehe) X3 And especially the little glows from the fireflies...

I liked the other version better that was bluer with the bellflowers. Why did you scrap that one? But I see you put in the needed moon here, so that's good. (Hey wait, why doesn't it look round? XP) I think this version is too monotone compared to the other one that had blues, greens, and purples. But in this one I like the fireflies (glowing spots?).

The background looks lovely considering how it's made from scratch. ;D My only complaint about the wall would be the fireflies. It does'nt really look like fireflies. I think it'd be better if you mixed in some colors to it. Like first start with one blue circle, then over it place one smaller white circle. After that use the smudge tool and smudge it till it blends nicely to create a subtle bluish glow. You can apply another soft white circle in the middle to give it that extra glow. You can also use other colors such as orange and yellow like what i did in this wallpaper. Just try and experiment with the mixing of the colors to get that nice glow. Ouh and besides that, you may also wanna reduce the amount of big glowy fireflies. It kinda crams up the wallpaper. Try using many other variations of sizes for the fireflies. It'll look better. ;D

I'll give you fav for the lovely painted background though. ;D

This is absolutely gorgeous. If depth is what you were going for, you've certainly accomplished it by with the rolling grass and angle of perspective. The clouds and faint outline of the mountains in the background just add to the panorama.

Colour choice is beautiful as well, with the small glowing accents completing an already surreal scene. Great job on this, and I'm looking forward to seeing more from you!

You did a great job, the composition is balanced, and I like how Reimu stands out (in a positive way) with her red dress. And good job with the grass, I know what it means to manually paint each blade, it can be quite painful. :D

Nah, the wall is awesome, love your Hotaru idea, the whole wall background gives off much needed space, and it is certainly much better than I expected when used.

this is gorgeous bern! the bg is just.... mmmm.... i think it kinda turns me on. i love the painted feel of it. i would have smoothed the shy out and completely gotten rid of the lines, but this just looks good this way. good thing you did it and not me.

Ah, such a lovely wall~ The purple and darker shades are very calming and soothing, making the flow of everything really nice. The fireflies give the scene a peaceful and serene feel ;D

This is a extremely beautiful wallpaper I must say, I'm not a huge fan of widescreen but I think it works here. The fact that you painted the background makes it that much more special I'm really impressed by the craftsmanship, the smoky clouds and the dark mysterious mountains are gorgeous. Windy grass is the best kind of grass lol it adds such volume to the picture you can almost feel the wind on your face, and last but not least the girl is so sweet looking she really looks great, she's not super glamorous, very soft and feminine. I think you nailed this wall :) A+ and a fav

I don't think you fail on the fireflies. I think they look nice and sweet ^^ The only thing about this wall is that it's too dark for me. The girl's hair seems to blend with the sky. Uh donno, could be because of my monitor settings. Ah and for some unexplained reason, I love the crescent moon, makes me feel relaxed looking at it (~_~)

I like the perspective that you got the viewer into =D It feels like the main character looking directly at you in a starry night asking for your company. The atmosphere is very pleasing and i definitely like the depth you gave to the wall =D Great job.

A good wallpaper

Well compared to your Water World work, this one isn't quite up to par. The lighting on the focal makes no sense at all, you need to dim the highlights more, it looks more like she's standing in mid/late noon rather than dead at night. The depth is nice, but it needs something more to it, there's too much negative space going on. Oh about your Water World piece, congrats on the tablet. ^^

Oh wow the background. It looks just like a calm night outside in reality. The girl there seems like an afterthought almost, ha ha. Not to mention the clouds, ahhhhh, they looks so nice.

I love it when wallpapers of simple scenes like this are so detailed. I can use them for ages and never get tired of looking at them. The moon was the first thing I noticed since it isn't like the usual moons I see in wallpapers that always look like a photograph and don't fit the wallpaper at all. The clouds look realistic, but still fit in with the painted style. The grass is absolutely perfect. <3 This is a perfect example of grass done right. I bet it took forever, but it was worth it.

The background is so awesome I almost forgot about the re-cg; I love how Reimu has the painted look like the background. The shading on her is perfect.

I think you succeeded in what you set out to do in the wallpaper. The clouds really do give a depth to the wall and the fireflies look great in my opinion. The only very minor gripe I have is that the mountains in the background kind of blend in with the clouds, but it's not that big of a deal. Overall good work!

This is one of my many favs now. I see what you ment by depth, very well executed. The choice of colors for the theme of this wall is great. The fireflies are a nice tough to the wall. Nice work on the grass, looks realistic with the amount of time that I'm guessing you put it to just that element. Looking forward to seeing more great work from you.
