I've seen this scan used so many times but this has to be the best one I've seen yet. I love the color very monochrome, dark and edgy to the max. Punk, grunge whatever you want to call it this is hot by all means. Style is like class with a tick, there different but one can't exist without the other, you have here a perfect balance of style and class with a little bit of edge. I think everything looks great and that you made another memorable piece that everyone will love :) A+ and a fav

Yes, just as you said. The contrast between the white text and the dark colored character really gives it that extra dramatic effect. The vector is also very nice and smooth. I put this straight away onto my desktop, GREAT JOB! :D

The main thing that attracted me the most was the textwork. I absolutely love how you placed it in this wall. It definitely makes a great impact on the whole wallpaper. I also like the little things that you've added in to make this wall so much more funkier than it already is. So great job on that! Im also glad that my rez is available. I don't like the line over Mugen's eye and the one over Jin's hair. It kind of distracts from the depth of the wall. Besides that the wall is awesome, I love the chaos. I'll have to try that shattered text effect one day. Usually I'm lazy when it comes to typography. >_> Maybe you could give me some pointers.

:D love the creative text design here! it's very unique and the way the streaks and bits flow out of the letters looks really awesome, especially the s-and-to-the-right-of-that part. you are getting really really good at typography. :O one little complaint about the text is that the smaller ones look too perfect in contrast. for the smaller "samurai" and "champloo", it's okay. even for "we are". but for the long line "and it makes us stronger", i do think that having at least a few "missing streaks" going through it would look nice. (by missing streak i mean streaks through the text, but streaks that are empty "negative space" instead of white "positive space".)

the composition is also quite nice and the texture is neat. a +fav. lovely typography!

I wish there was a bit more contrast, as it looks a tad too washed out; I wish the characters would pop out from the backround a bit more (and of course, the text pop out even more).

I love the text, I've never seen a wallpaper that has the text placed so perfectly in it, right down to the style of it, it's very urban like and I love it. The overall wall itself is actually pretty great, I like the composition a lot, it looks like their in a rap video, lol. Fantastic vector and texture. Now that is what I like you see, you have been off your game lately but I am glad to see you finally have got back to your roots. Vector is definitely you skill. Contrast is superb and the saturation is just right. You most definitely captured the look and feel of Samurai Champloo, the abstract and funky text. Normally I like more dimension in vectors but in this case the flat look works well. What more can I say, excellent.

Wow, I haven't taken a look through this site in a while, but good thing I went to check your profile first! I saw this Samurai Champloo wall (that series is one of my absolute top favorites), and instantly loved it.

What you did with the text is just.... wow. You've got talent. keep it up

Hmm, it seems in my haste, I forgot to give some review on the wall.

Overall, I love it. The dark tones, the random dots and lines, the interesting choice for background, the text...

The text is phenomenal. It represents a sword fight between two powerful swordsmen. One embodies an erratic, unrelenting, and unpredictable style. The other a more austere, elegant, yet effortlessly deadly fighter. Their clash shows what they are: Rivals. What's even more amazing is that you have utilized pieces of the text to literally portray a fight. (nice effects btw) I could trace the slashes and cuts their swords slice.

That isn't without some criticism though. I found that the "we are," and even more so, "and it makes us stronger" detracts from the overall theme of rivals. The text doesn't really have any neat effects, and even damages the perception of the much more interesting centerpiece. Parts of the word "stronger" blends into Jin's hand (which had some cool line effects going), and the "makes us" blocks what could have been an interesting slice effect.

The middle-ground text..... the balancing has me stumped. What you have looks off, but every improvement I came up with had a drawback, too. I would like to see the Jin edge of the text move forward and widen a bit so it fits the folds of his sleeves better.

The last little thing is the right edge of the wall. I don't like that clean cut. Though, there are multiple possibilities to fix it. I would just say create a flow out of it that naturally fits. Play around with the lines. Judging from what else you've accomplished in this wall it should be an easy task ;)

Again, this is a brilliant wall! Definitely feature worthy... And definitely exploit what you've accomplished with the text work in this wall. I'd love to see other walls featuring similar effects (and I may have some suggestions).

Finding something that'll replace it on my desktop is going to be pretty hard xD oh, and I was ridiculously high when I wrote this. But all that I said still stands.

Brilliant! I usually don't like text in my wallpapers but this one's definitely an exception, the way you've done it really gives the wall a Champloo-ish style sort of thing, if that makes sense, and I love it.

That's a great experimental result. There's that particular clear fluid type effect that I'm sort of seeing, but also a crisp ink effect as well? Anyways, it works well with the bold font. The vectors were well done too.

Not a lot of color used here and I think it works better that way. I like the look of the fonts. They almost look like graffiti but it isn't.

Really love the setting for the wallpaper. The position of the characters are great. But to me, the most striking part of this wall is probably the title of the wall which is beautifully design and distorted. Kind of like, a Fast & Furious styled title theme. :) And the BG is also nicely done. The gray BG with the black spots makes you think that it's some kind of really really good asphalt/cement road LOL.

My only gripe is that, there's not many uber-sized widescreen resolution LOL. I don't know why but i kind of like the biggest sized resolutions. >_<

Anyway, this is a lovely grunge-themed wallpaper. Really appreciated your effort in making this. Clearly, it is creative as well as beautiful. Keep up the gOOd wORk!! ^_^
