my work Ice Cream Tomoyo ... 9(>_>) sorry, i can't found some good title for this wall, so i take that ice cream on Tomoyo hand
actually :| this work was an old work when i was still watching Clannad Movie and decided to made some wallpaper using Tomoyo base image and began to croping it (it's Tomoyo from movie so the artwork design is a bit different with Tomoyo from Clannad TV series), but because of my lack idea i can't thinking of some good theme for it just after i'm finish croping the scan.
and after a while (got some idea by chance) i've decided to finish it >_< making the splashing background (well, it's look like tribal than splash), and because i thought Tomoyo is cool character and match with black-grey-white color (well, matching with her hair maybe :P) so i'm using monocromatic color for main color of this wall except the character scan itself (or maybe it's just because i like black-grey-white color :P)
i'm using the help from both adobe tools (Photoshop and Illustrator) to made this wallpaper. I made the spalshing thing at Illustrator, using their Artistic_Paintbrush and messing around until i've got what i want.
after export it to be a Photoshop brushes (using define brush preset), i move my hand the second time at Photoshop ^_^ well, just messing around again on 1680x1050 Photoshop canvas using the splash brush that i made before (on Illustrator), blending this and that, add some additional brush (some clannad text brush that i made), give some pattern (line pattern that i made before too), color gradation and text
the next, i'm messing a bit the Character Scan like add some shadow and glow effect and modify the adjustment level a bit
and the last for finishing ... i'm adding some blending smooth effect to the wall and watermark at the bottom-left-side :D
estimation time that i take for design this wall is about 6 hours (well ... making the brush on Illustrator take a lot of time), and croping the scan is about 2-3 hours i think, so the total time is about 8-9 hours to finish this wall :D
i also made for 1440x900 resolution and desktop version at 1280x1024 resolution
the hardest part is ... hmm ... making the splash brush (i'm not too familiar with illustrator) and croping the scan i think :D and the number of layer that i've used are 22 layers
when i used it on my desktop, it's match perfectly with XP theme (well, i'm used silver theme on my desktop :P) well, the smoothing thing really my favorite effect :X
waiting for your comment (every aspect if possible) _(._.)_ and hope you enjoy this wall ^^
NB: for the scan, i found Tomoyo scan which similar with the scan that i've used in here (AP), the scan was posted by suemura
though the scan that i've used are from the other source (i forgot the source)

Lookin' good.
My only complaint is with the positioning of the text; if there's gonna be text, I wanna see all of it (e.g. Tomoyo Sakag.... wait, where's the "ami" O_O?). At least it was done intentionally :)

Just curious, did Tomoyo have brown hair in the movie? It feels kinda off from her gray hair...

<3 Tomoyo, I love walls where the waller takes icons into consideration so I don't have to cover up any of my beautiful tomoyo

wow u ought to write an article about the wall, your description is was the long but the wall is awesome though my only problem is the text its distracting me

uhh i love the scan u used.. its quality is awesome, looks almost like a vector.. i think u should link the scan to see well what u did on it.. since this can bring up some doubts about the image... i mean it looks pretty much like a vector..
about background.. i love the gray and text mixing with the weird shapes.. but on the other hand.. for me the colored scan crashes a tinny bit with the bg... since the bg is too filled.. and colorless.. anyway the general look is still nice love the text at the bottom, going on top of her good work ^^

Also good choice of colours and position of the character. Good work for making this wallpaper. It fits well on my desktop especially with my vista theme lol hope to see more pictures made by you. Her attractive face is drawing the taste of the icecream she is holding. Composition of her flowing hair is natural.

Wow~ I think this looks nice! I like nature scenes, but this one is nice as well! I love all the vectors in the background and the way you faded the colors as the vectors moved farther back. The wallpaper is mostly grayscale, but it doesn't look bleak at all. The words look cool with the effect, but as someone mentioned, the only thing I have to complain about is the positioning of the wording. :x But other than that, this is really nice~
