i finally decided to get an account here! because i am in desperate need of more scans =]
anyways (copied from MT) vector #18 // scan thanks to pulver15//MT and onemanga 290 layers // 180 MB // 100+ hrs DA! credits: web brush//falln_stock floral textures//princess_of_shadows
THE VECTOR | so this is a combination of two manga scans, you know the ones found in the first few pages ish. except sebastian who is taken from a page in volume 9. I absolutely loved coloring this and i finally actually sat down and took the time to paint instead of just smudging randomly. i even used the eraser tool and such to fix mistakes! although if you think some parts are just pure black, they probably are (like grell's pants and ciel's jacket.) there's no painting there =]. there was also a good amount of reconstruction needed to finish up some of the charas (you wont believe how hard it was to make grell's knife.) in retrospect maybe ciel is too big and tall, but too bad XD. and i was going to remove the blood but i had already flattened it so too bad
THE BACKGROUND | the vectored background is not nearly as detailed as i wanted it to be, i wanted roses in the shelves and some creepy dolls on the ground and maybe a curtain but i got lazy obviously. ten thousand filter/blending effects later, i got the wall to look like it had some depth (its really harder than you think to get depth into 2 dimensional things). most notably, outerglow, emboss, gaussian blur (of course) and lightening effects render. also used a glass filter to imitate the windows. i was going to do lightning but you would not believe how hard it is to do. i think the frame color is off but believe me i tried many many colors --"
OTHER COMMENTS | omg i love sebastien with glasses. he was hotter in the scan though T_T. i have such a weakness for dark twisted glasses-characters. and ciel frowns too much so i made his smile somewhat more evil which fit better i think =]. i realized later that madam red wears red but i thought it would be too much with all the red on grell. Sorry i didnt read the manga before this T_T
and alot of people dont really like the border so borderless version

Hey... Another Kuroshitsuji wall... But I think this is the best wall submitted in AP in the Kuroshitsuji's section, yet... Nice vectoring, yes, and I pity you for all the hard work and troubles, but it was paid off by the wonderful effects! Congratz...
OMG... It's Sebastian.... ! I think that he's the main character more than Ciel due to his handsome face and also his powers... Ahaha.. . The texture of Ciel's coat is a bit weird... Not to real like the normal cloths you see... I think you should blur it a little... The buttons looked a bit weird too due to its shading... And Madame Red is suppose to be in RED... I know and agree this brown version looks nice, but why Madame Red has to be in brown when she's born to be RED? The books behind looks a bit awkward... I think you should have used thinner lines instead of thick ones...
But overally, this wall is almost perfect and is nice for the upcoming halloween because of the Shinigami butler of Madame Red licking a bloody knife... Hope he won't cut his tongue! Haha...

The coloring looks kind of washed out to me. It's not a bad wallpaper, but the shading needs a lot of work and most of all, it lacks lighting, which makes it look very incomplete.

I absolutely love how this looks. Ciel's coat looks so cool. I was a little upset to see that Madam Red is not red, but then I realized there would be too much red in that area, especially next to Grell. This is wonderful and I'm going to use it very soon. :] I also added it to my favorites!

I like the composition a lot. Ciel bigger on the front and the other characters aligned behind gave a nice depth. The textures were very well used, and you even added scenery for the window. Now, it is odd to see Madam Red in any other colour than red, but I do like the light brown you used. It would've clashed with Grell otherwise, as you mentioned. Overwall, it's a pretty good job. =)
