I'm not dead yet. This isn't that new, I made it a while ago. I submitted over at TheOtaku, but kept forgetting to submit it here. Sometimes I'm too lazy to even copy/paste something *wheeze*
The long and tedious processWell, it all began a long time ago -I don't remember when, I moved the file and now it shows another time of creation. Must've been in the summer, if I have to rely on my memory. Anyway, at first I wanted to have everything painted, because the image was cut off on the sides and, yes, I had to extend the canvas. And I wanted widescreen in case it looked good enough to put on the desktop ^_^ Of course, I got bored of it after a while and kind of left it to collect dust, then reopened it a few days ago, thinking "hey, I gotta finish some of these" ._. And, since the painting was crappy, I used some textures to hide it >>" If it doesn't look good, hide it under the rug and hope no one notices. Finally, I added some patterns and used a few stock photos as textures ^^

On a side note, I thought I was going to make more Der Jen walls, but after seeing how much this one took, I might change my mind and make avatars instead. Oh well, I'll see. Comments and favorites are greatly appreciated You know I love criticism! :3 See you later!

Nice work on the background. I love all those layers of colors. You did a pretty good job in blending in the character with the background too. But i can't help but think that the left side of the wallpaper is rather empty. Maybe you can try and apply some floral brushes similar to the ones on the right side of the wallpaper. Some textwork might work there too. I think it would also be a good idea if you could extend the blues and greens (background color) from the right side to the left side of the wallpaper too. Overall it's still a great wallpaper and i like the flow of it with all those lovely colors. It's a fav! =)

Lovely use of texturing and colors... your wall is most elegant and exotic in its presentation. I really do love the whole piece though I wish I could have seen more defined clouds on the left side of the wall to help balance out the defined lines of the main girl. The faded pottery thingy behind her on the left is also blended/faded away a bit too much for my liking but again, I'm being too nitpicky .(-c-).
Anyway, lovely piece~ <3

Wow this is so stunning I'm truly blown away. The water color effects are so unique and beautiful you hardly ever see a wallpaper with this kind of volume and depth. This has a soft feminine aura and I like how simplistic her face is. Really great job. A- and a fav

I like the texture: it gives a sort of antique gloss to the picture, as if it was a delicate painting on an old parchment. However I can't flatten the feeling that the background is a bit too bare in comparison to the opulence of the girl's dress and jewels. I would have liked to see some floral ornaments (like the ones on the right side) in the left side too. They could have helped to give a bit of contrast effect and lessen the impression of flatness. One more thing (the last I swear!): I wouldn't have deleted the muzzle of that fantastic animal on the upper left. Nice work!
