Mobile Suit Gundam 00 For A Beautiful Future

I like the background.

Wait doesnt this count as a doujusin then? O__O Anyways good wallie..but needs lots of improvement..LOL Setsuna's shoes look like women shoes >:D ahahahaha.But love the other details like the bullets and the smoke and the part of mecha :) Now for some critique since i forgot :P anyways the land looks good both in terrain and shadows but the thing i dont understand is how come the mecha's pieces are all organised on both sides of the cliff/mound/ridge etc.When a mecha gets blown its pices are supposed to be scattered not nicely organized in one corner (XD) LOL

Too be honest, the're something bothering me with it, although I could precise it, maybe I'll try another time, I'm just tired >.< But character looks so much better than on that simple sketch, laso background is really nice. And color os sky makes me thing of some old painting. Good job :3

Background is mostly fine and well done.

Maybe the only thing that needs some tweaking is the smoke trails and the small fires. All the smoke trails have the same color saturation, while they shouldn't since some of them are supposedly farther than others (remember even things like smoke need to show depth and are subject to color/saturation perspective!).

Same thing for the fire spots, except that since they're close to each other you may make them look the same, but still don't use such a bright and vivid red for them, since they're distant their color should look a little less saturated.Just a little though, because they still have to be noticed by the viewer, afterall.

The character's shading is the main issue, in my opinion. It feels like there's no shading at all, or if there is it's too subtle. To be precise, there's not enough contrast between the base colors and what are supposed to be both the dark-shaded areas and the bright ones around the chatacter's edge.

If you need some reference to study that kind of shading with the character giving the back to the source of light (in this case the sun), use THIS, THIS, THIS and THIS. If you need more reference let me know, I might have more useful stuff and I am sure there a lot of scans as well here at AP that could be used a good reference material for this purpose.

Last thing, while it's true that closer objects show more details, it's also true that the rifle that Setsuna is holding shouldn't display that many details since it's supposed to be almost uniformly shaded. Just like Setsuna, the side of the rifle that the viewer can see should appear darker and be only brighter around its border. You may of course still use different levels of shading to point out some of the details of the rifle, but you either make them look really subtle, or you make them contrast a lot (in terms of brightness). It's up to you to see which solution works best.

Anyway, this is just me nitpicking a very well made wallpaper (hoping my suggestions made any sense, heh), which is still absolutely worthy of praisal. Keep up the good work! :)

I can't believe you made such an elaborate composition starting from that lacking-in-detail sketch. The background is wonderful. Glad you had the patience to paint all those burning buildings, they're a great asset of this wall.

I love the idea! I'm not in love with the original sketch, but I do love what you did with. The background really works well and the titles was already a great mood setter for the message that was getting across. Amazing!

New wall from you! =D I think you did a great job painting the background and i can see a nice improvement on the shading and lighting on Setsuna from your latest edits. But i still think some of the smoke in the back should be more faded. Especially the ones which are further away. Ouh and the smoke should be more faded when it's further away from the burning source. On the other hand, it should be thicker and darker when it's close to the fire. ;D That's pretty much it. Good work on the wallpaper overall anyway. ^_^

I think It's an extremely creative wallpaper! I'm amazed that you've accomplished so much from that simple sketch. You've done a wonderful job in making the picture complete, I have nothing to critique when looking at your work, I only have compliments and admiration. Lovely paint work. I'd have my criticisms but I know nothing about paint so all I can do is applaud you on how well you made this wall. The hues are a great selection for the choice you've made with the theme and background. I do enjoy the background smoke and the dusky skies. The emotion is there as well as the message. Kya, this is just great, all that detail from nothing at all O_O. And the painting is excellent, did you do that with a tablet, or only with your mouse? XD. It's awesome, maybe just little modifications should be made, as shinn said, on the smoke or something, but that really doesn't bother the eye that much :)), so it's really ok. Yay, Setsuna, i've wanted to make a wall with him as a child too, but you got me to it :D. Great wallie, favie.

This is a great wallpaper of Gundam 00. I like how you used the sun effects in the back and little Setsuna with his gun. I think this wall shows why Setsuna is who he is.

this wall is amazing! colors are nice, brings out the character in the middle and then the smoking city in the background (took me a second to see that xD) the only suggestion i have is to move the text a little to the right, because right now, the "very hard to read" text it's kinda in the way and too close to the sun in the bg
