After a long time I’m back again!!!
I stopped walling for a while because of mainly two reasons:
1) I was very busy studying for my University exams and I could devote hardly any time to the projects I wanted to make.
2) I can say somehow I had lost the inspiration and motivation when I had to make wallpapers/vectors. Whenever I had time in my hands I want to wall something, at least a PNG but everything I made I didn’t like it. I mean things didn’t turn out to be the way I wanted so I feel very frustrated with myself :(
However, I decided that I had to try to make a vector and I found this lovely scan.
To tell you the truth I wasn't very sure about this project because I thought the scan I chose was quite difficult to vector. But then I started vectoring the image and I realised I was doing pretty well. I made the vector in Illustrator and then I added the shadows and highlights in Photoshop. You can see the process here. Then I continued with the background (this is the first time I draw an entire background with my digital tablet and I know, perhaps it's not very realistic but what I wanted to make was just an interesting landscape for the character. I really had fun making it!:3). Again, you can see the process here. The grass that is behind the cherry tree is actually a photograph of a landscape.
About the title... well I took it from an episode of Oh! My Goddess's series (I know it's not very original but I think it really suitable for the scene).
Textures: I always try to make my vectors quite different from the original scans because I want to add my own style to them. I think textures give an unique touch.

Making vectors/wallpapers is a real challenge for me because I'm learning how to use softwares like Illustrator or Photoshop and I really hope I can improve in my next wallies. I think this wallpaper took me a month an a half or so. I put so much effort on it P(T_T) so I hope you like it.

Its really beautiful ^^ i love how the girl ended up, the sakura tree behind her its a nice detail, the only thing that you could have done better is the sky but i think you did a great work here ;) good work and keep it up!^^ favs

The wall is quite good. I like how it turned out. Now what I think you could have done better is the sky and - more importantly - the grass. Why? Well if the cherry blossom tree is so lit up (the colors are quite bright) then the grass should be lit up too - or both of them have to be darker than they are now. The sky is a little too dark in my opinion and while the moon doesn't "shine" enough, the girl seems to shine a bit too much. Well that's at least the impression I got.
Still I do like the wallpaper. Good work and thank you very much for sharing it!

Wow! *hugs* You sure put a lot of work into this one, Yaolin-chan. :D This is amazing! I'm glad to see a wallpaper from you again. ^_^ It has been a while indeed! Wow, I love how you showed us your progress. You put so much work into it...it's just...wow! I love the tree. I love Sakura. ^_^ She's so cute, and your vector is pretty! I love how you did her hair. The eyes look a bit rough, but other than that, it's perfect, especially how you made her kimono all pretty with a different texture/pattern! I love it. *faves* Keep up the great work. :3

Wow! you've made a beautiful wall Yaolin. As I said before you are a very creative person and now I'm even more sure that you are. The background is totally matching with the character, the Sakura tree behind is awesome which is matching with her kimono. The green grass is certainly giving a calm impression to the background and the moon is looking luminous plus very romantic. The best part which I liked most in the wallpaper are Sakura Tree's petals, they are so beautiful that they are giving a effect of motion in the wall. For Sakura, she's just looking awesome and beautiful. I really like her very much. The texture and the patterns are all very sweet. You've really done a great work Yaolin. You really konw how to make even difficult things easier. Thanks for sharing this beautiful wall with us. Adding it as a favorite ^_^ [it really worth it] Keep up the good job :-)

This certainly is pretty. I did wonder if all the shines on the hair wa causing you trouble, but the lack of scrupulous finishes does add to the feel of this being more like a painting...
Only the grass then gave it away. Sorry, but I don;t think that CG grass EVER look nice.
