I can't believe I finished this. I mean, I already finished the outlines like 5-6 months ago, and I even started coloring his eyes, tears and hair. But then, I kinda stopped. I got REALLY scared with Xion skins tone ^_^' I mean, that is much harder than the previous Xero I made before. But few days ago, the urge to finished it come back, so I start working on it. On Xion face alone, I think it took me an hour to paint them (mostly on his nose) OX Then, I lost track of the time.. but I do know I spend the whole day painting his skins T_T Okay, to be honest.. I don't really like how they turn out. But, I'm too tired, and my arm already killing me (that's right.. I paint those with just a MOUSE! No tablet used!), so I leave it like that.
For the wings, I originally wanted to re-paint the original ones, and even expand it. But, taking a good close look at it I got scared (again!) at how detailed the wings is. So, I decided to look for other wing image that I can vector from. Luckily there's a lot of Belldandy image I can choose from ;) The wings is pretty easy to do, but I have some problem choosing the color for the black wings. In the end, I just use gray for the outlines, and use deep black for the wing. For those who had bright monitor might see them :nya:

To be honest, I had no idea what to do for the background. So, I decided to re-watched Shining Tears X Wind, and in episode 1, Souma & Kureha met with Xero in some space filled with broken glass shards. I kinda like that idea, and decided to use it. But the problem is, there's no good broken glass brushes. So, I had to do it myself. Yes, I vector those broken glass shards from this beautiful CARNELIAN image (which I might add, I've been wanting to vector this scans for so long! Now that I've done the glass shards, I will vector the rest after I'm done with my 100th vector). There's 80 glass shards, and I used 233 layer to made them! I feel like dying now and I can't move my right arm ^_^'
Anyways, no fancy background. I just use gradient and use some huge soft airbrush to make some light effects. Actually, I originally wanted to put Xion is some sort of beautiful forest, but quickly dismissed that idea, Why? Because I don't want a naked man out of room! X-P Although it sounds tempting... but... I don't think I wanna see naked man on street or something. Nope... not even Suzaku got naked :nya: But I think this is enough. Just like that Carnelian scans, I imagine that Xion just came out from the glass egg, thus explaining those shards. And that's also the reason why I named this re:BIRTH
Okay, enough that. My only hope is, this doesn't seems too bright for those who had bright monitor. I can't get it darker, coz the white wings will get brighter instead! Sowwy!
EDIT: GASP! I forgot to mention.... that I forgot to vector his rings! NOOOOOOOOOOO!

I like the theme. It does remind me of D.A. Angel even though I only saw artwork and listened to the music of that show.
I like the concept and the background and almost everything about the wallpaper is perfect. Now what you'd might have improved if you felt like it, is the surface of the glass splitters. They should blur the background parts behind them a little and maybe upscale or downscale it (depending on the thickness of the glass of course).
Still a great job you did here! Thank you for sharing.

I think the background is charming and it adds a bit of serenity to the character, that's only my opinion anyway. Your vectoring skill is amazing, The lines are fine and subtle and the colors are extremely attractive, it's so soft and delicate, truly divine. This wallpaper is incredibly clean and refreshing, the shattered glass adds a nice appeal as well. I'm amazed by the work that you've done in this wallpaper. I'll NEED to add it to my favorites.

This wallpaper is really cool < 3 I've always loved those images with black and white wings for some reason, and your wallpaper is my new pawnage~ The design of the wallpaper and the glass shards match perfectly with the vector.
As for the vector, the eyebrows look really nice. Ah, and the eyes too < 3 You did a great job painting the skin *pats on the back* with a mouse~ I understand how it feels o_O Like your arm is going to fall off xD The wings are impressive too >3 The hair could use a little extra detail, but the wallpaper is fine enough as it is now~

Wow very nice :) I'm sorry you didn't get to try the original wings - they're really not that bad when you get into it (they're almost mirror images too). I like your vector lines + painted colors combo - it's very smooth and refreshing. The glass has a nice effect, but the background still feels plain (as if everything's in the foreground only).
I did a painted version of this guy a long time ago...and wanted to call him Buffalo Wings for some reason >_>,
