This is the first vector I've completed, though it's actually my second attempt at one. I did the work in Photoshop 7.0
The idolm@ster series is one of my favorites, so I decided to make a vector from it when my first work stalled. I chose this DVD cover as Ami & Mami were my favorite characters and I had always wanted to do something with this image. It was a bit of a challenge, mainly trying to find outlines in the darker/shadowed portions of the image. It was also the first time I tried using gradients, mostly when trying to recreate the shiny look of their jackets. I played with them a bit in the hair and uniform, but it never looked right to me so I settled on just keeping the gradients on the jackets.
There are probably some ways to improve it further, but overall I'm pleased with how it turned out. Feel free to comment.

my goodness, they both look the same (it's as if you used copy and paste on one of them >_<). now for the main part, I loved how you gave each one something special to give them individuality(like on the left has a blue ribbon and on the right, a red ribbon). you have done amazing job with the coloring and shading (the clothes are outstanding as well) and their expressions are clear and vibrant. no mistakes here. outstanding ^_^
