i lurv your mountains \o/

i've always been a fan of mountain scenes and these ones are one of them...i'm not too big on miku in general but the idea is awesome ...it kinda looks like she's in the middle of a music video doesn't it?

Aww the snowy mountains are < 3. Kinda reminds me of scoops of icecream. xD [strike]The scan needs to blend a bit more with the background though. Like you need to soften some parts of the scan with a soft brush eraser and lightly erase it to make it flow better with the background. For example make her scarf fade away a little. The left part of her pigtail has some black parts around it. So you should probably erase that tiny part. It's just a minor thing, but im nit picky. xD[/strike] Looks better now. ;D

Ah well that's all i suppose. The snow and mist is done nicely though. And Miku looks great in this one. So favs! xD

but no, seriously, those mountains are the shizznit. if i were to look mountains up in gizoogle, it's send me right here. and i'd be like "damn girl1 that is some sexy shizznit right there" only i'd sound like the guy who desperately wants his skin to change color, and all my black friends would die a little inside.

but in the end, everything having been considered, the whole obligation of me, here, now, is to fav this. you leave me no alternatives.

Not much of a Miku person (I prefer Meiko and Luka), but I found the artwork and the wallpaper itself mysterious somewhat unique in its atmosphere.

Wow, the background looks stunning! Beautiful mountains and clouds.

Anyways, seeing everyone praise this wallpaper, let me be an asshole and give it some critic (XD) No seriously, the lightning and shadows are pretty off, although the avarage viewer won't even notice. First of all there's the problem with the character, which in the scan seem to have some light coming from the top-left (causing all the basic shadows on the character), plus some hard light coming from the explosion behind her (causing the black clothes to be pitch black). In this snowy mountain scene, none of those lights are retraceable. Instead, judging on the dark areas on the mountains, the sun stands somewhere on the top right. And for some reason the shadow of the character on the snow is directed to the top left. That would mean there's a light 'behind the camera'. If this were the case though, the legs would've been lit properly and not turn pitch black like they are now.

As said though, the avarage viewer won't even notice, but I have to work a lot with composition, lights and shadows for my study, so I'm always a sucker for those things ;)

So my tip for your next wall, if again combining a different bg with an extracted character; visualize the light sources. And you could always ask me :D

The background is made very well and is very interesting. It really conveys the feeling of snow =3! The scan is great too, but it kind of sticks out a bit for me...perhaps a little bit more mist in front of Miku would make her position more believable! The wallpaper feels slightly plain at the top but thats probably a personal thing. Either way, great work on the wall, I love it =D! +fav and desktopped (for a while x3)

the colors r gr8!! but in my opinion they do not fit the scan, umm...i have downloaded this walli and i noticed that the extraction needs more especially when u look closely into her hair, u will see sum black lines appearing and u havent extracted it very well!! The weather is snowy and her clothes is like this (o_o) umm dunno... but the scan is full of blur its all blury?! ummm the place and the scan...it would b gr8 if u have chosen anotha suitable place bcuz this one doesnt rly match it!!! Anyways, Im just tryin to help ya nomore! Goodluck with wallin~ xD

I think what I love the best is her facial expression. She's got that look of someone who is like "You know, I'm out in a snow storm and I'm freezing, but who cares!" type look. Probably why she's only wearing a scarf along with her normal outfit outside. More power to her! I think I'll do something like that as well!

First off, wow, where do I began? How do I even began to how much progress you've made as a waller. Let's start off with the painting. I'm glad to see that you've started to take that route. I'm hoping that we'll see someone that surpass Candy-chan in painting and I can certainly say that you are certainly on your way climbing up that ladder. I have to say what draws me in the most are the mountains. I've found myself get lost just simply looking at them twice now. They are beautifully done and really give me the feeling that I'm actually out there with her, which I don't need mind you! I'm cold enough as is! Being as inexperienced as I am, I can't tell too much with the scan, but I can tell you did a good job with it as well. Touche!

I have to strongly disagree with AlanSmithLover on both the choice of scan as well as the blurriness. First, I can't see anything that is any way blurry at all @&#95;_@. Second, I find it to be rather fitting. Note her facial expression and the scarf. She doesn't care. Second, where I live it's very common to see people outside wearing shorts and a shirt. It's adapting to the climate.

Nice blue light sky and snow movement... But the best part is Miku in the middle, on stockings and skirt, mocking the cold weather with a giggle!

First thing that captured my eyes were the mountains. No criticism there, they look realistic in every aspect, even behind the clouds/snow-flakes/foggy-ness. My favorite part about the wall is not the mountains though, I liked the character, Miku, more. Main reason was the colors on both her orange scarf and light/dark blue hair popped! Her expression/stance is different and made me really look at every detail.

The scan was also fairly big, so I'm surprised you got her to look as clean cut and crisp as you did! =D

The background looks like it was from a scan... I really think it's that good. I still think she's a bit misplaced, or at least severely underdressed for that location. I mean she has the scarf and the blueish color thing going on but that's about all it has going for it. She should also probably be deep in the show with shoes like that... perhaps

I think the softness of the brush work and background are what gives this it's charm. The girl gives it it's style, her sweet yet funky attitude gives us all hope that one day we may brave the winter snow in but a mini skirt and who doesn't love that! XD *runs for some hot chocolate* ahhh that's better *hands some to Bernouli* your hands must be tired after that fives hours of work but it was well worth it everything looks awesome. Very nice job on the painting! I wouldn't want to paint mountains, haha. I don't do backgrounds, period == Here are some things that I think would make her blend with the BG some more (I didn't read the other comments so sorry if I'm repeating):

The parts of her hair that have the black outline seem to blend less than the parts that are without the outline.

The shadows on her, particularly those on her thighs, should be softened, because the background is not sunny, but blizzardy, so there is no strong light anywhere.

She is really colorful and contrasted while the background is light and only has a couple of colors that are really similar to each other. It's a nice realistic background, yes, but since Miku is so not real (haha), she sticks out. I think vignetting the wallpaper with a saturated blue-teal would help. Or maybe contrast the BG some more. Or maybe some light gradients here and there. Since she has odd colors, the background doesn't need to be that real 8D
