i love the glow of the colors and his eyes it's so pretty

I think this is a spectacular redo of a scan. Cloud looks amazing I'm truly impressed that such a poor quality was revised into this, the eyes are so emotional and you made the body look so clean cut and lean. Bringing out such a dirty looking image can't be easy and while still keeping it's original depth and form is every more of a challenge so I can really respect the work you put into this. The resolution is the deal breaker tho it needs to be bigger so you can see the great work you did. Over all this is extremely well done and even without the rain you keep the emotion and perspective of his pain and angst which is what makes this so great. A+ and a fav :) Oh and I like that you listed your inspirational music it's always a pleasure for me to see what inspires an artist.

What's wrong with the smudge tool? I use it all the time to refine brush strokes...so I see no shame in using it. Anyway, I think this was a great project, and I'm glad you finished it, because it's unique (never seen that image before) and expressive. I just think that it could be sharper (mainly the face and eyes) if you worked on it some more though, since it's kinda blurry.

i agree with Nysha.. You had a very nice idea to do this.. and i think you managed it pretty well... the wallpaper only lacks some details sharping the face and eyes, if u had worked on it some more this would be pretty good and outstanding. good work ;]

The reso's too small for my monitor but this is great work and you should be proud of yourself. : 3 you kept his looks too, which is awesome.

If there's a couple of things I would get really picky about are the hair and the shading. The hair looks a tad too thick and chunky and the shading could have more detail. i.e. his mouth. But it's better than anything I can do so I'll just +fav

This wallpaper is so phenomenal and I'm in awe of your amazing skills! First off I would like to thank you for paying tribute to one of my favorite yet complex character. This is the second wallpaper that I've seen recently of Final Fantasy 7 and it's features are just as exquisite. Cloud's expression here is rather dramatic but innocent, that's one of the key attribute that I like about him, his child like mind set and honesty is a joy to watch (but when he needs to take action and get the job done, there is no hesitation). I think you have refined him well and it transcends so much to the point where I can tap into all the emotions that he's expressing (well done).

The atmosphere is perfect and very complementing of the protagonist, I like the smooth mixture/blending of colors (it comes across flawlessly) and my favorite little distinguished detail is Cloud's hair. I have no idea as to how you managed to craft it so beautifully... well vectoring does come to mind (but even if you explained it to me in technical terms I believe that I still would not understand, hehe good job). The small flares of fire is spectacular as well. Please accept my humble bow of appreciation for this beautifully crafted wallpaper and pat yourself on the shoulder for a job well done! #.(n_n)

Overall, it's really nice. I've done this kind of painting too, so I know how difficult it can be. My one complaint would be that it simply needs more highlights, since he is in front of what would be a dramatic light source. I think you could have pushed the lights and darks a little more. Also, I would have worked on the color choices a bit more too. Brighter reds oranges and yellows would have made clouds eyes REALLY pop. Overall though, it's nice.

I have nothing to complain about except one thing: it seems that you mistook his upper teeth for his lip xD they don't show much in the original because of the colors but you can see the teeth if you look really closely. +fav

it's pretty nice overall considering the image you started with. but i think some parts could use a little more refining, like the hair could be softer the facial structures could be more solid but other than those your painting is really good

So, usually redo's of scans come out looking just like cleaned up, meh versions of the originals...and you basically just smashed that stereotype. BEAUTIFUL is the best word to describe Cloud here, everything from the detail on his hair to the gorgeous color of his eyes is perfectly done. The crazy amount of effort you put into this definitely shows, it's one of the nicest wallpapers I've seen in a long time and probably the best scan redo I've ever seen. My only qualm is that it's not in my resolution, but whatever; +fav and a hearty pat on the back!

Never underestimate smudge tool. Even when I'm not that a big fan of this real looking styles or FF, but good job to making this wallie from that low one. Still a bit blurry, but within acceptable.

Wow that's an incredible improvement over the original scan. Love that look of anguish in Cloud's eyes where he's supposed to be this strong and absolute protagonist, it truly shows the "tragic hero" side to him.
