H ello everyone!
First wallpaper~! (Aside from the other one that got a teary eyed ... Re- Nevermind :P)
Song of Inspiration: Kaoru Wada - Life of Flowers The moment I spotted this image, the moment I decided it had to become a wallpaper. In collaboration with Kaoru Wada's song "Life of Flowers" and the solitary vision behind the girl's eyes, it set me up to create a more "dark" wallpaper. She is the lone guardian of this fading universe, the single hope. However, she is alone and will be alone to protect this crumbling universe until the very end. Well, at least, that was my intention.
The background is basically a compilation of me using a pen tool, smudge tool, two filter effects (cloud and twirl) and one magic circle brush. Sounds simple, but it took me the longest to manipulate because my computer was literally dying from all the smudging and pen tooling. I wanted to create a sense of a universe with the stars, and I'm hoping I managed to get that feeling across. Last, but not least, I tried to make her look like she was slowly "disappearing" under a shadow of darkness to bring out the feeling of loneliness and solitude. Here, the cloud filter followed by noise and a touch of blurring helped me bring out that darker aspect cloaking her.
To tell you the truth, it was extremely difficult to bring out the feeling of disappearing. I think the background was what took me the longest. I kept creating it, staring at it, and starting over from scratch again. It probably took seventeen tries before I got something satisfying, haha.
Total Time: 2hours 59minutes
Enjoy!

In my opinion (i'm sorry but i'm not really one to judge) i think that the girl should be moved a to either the right or the left as it would soothe the eye a little by using the rule of thirds.
Also, I reckon if you are trying to make the girl the main subject of the wallpaper you should cast the spotlight on her and not the several orange light of wings behind her, to allow us to focus on her and stop our eyes from wandering around and around everything else.
Lastly, the magic circle brush (i think) that created the faint ripple effect kind of makes the wallpaper much more complicated that it needs to be.
If you are able to take away the faint circles and make the character stand out a little more (making her brighter or something) it would make a lovely wallpaper :).
Btw, Good job on your first wallpaper!!

I like the execution of your idea a lot! The colors are nice - not too shiny. And it seems more of a raster image than of a vector. Finally the background is done very well and so is the overall image. Therefore I'll fav it :) Thank you for sharing!

Nice work, very well disposed and colored but I didn't like the background. Makes it too dark for me.

Arts in the colors are very fantastic. Her silent face is realistic. They are drawing ironic atmosphere of the gardian for the wonderland.
