For people who know Subaru Sumeragi I think the idea of walking through pain and sakura is very familiar already |(VcV)|. The background was based on a real cherry blossom photo which was changed next to a oil painting version. Subaru is placed on the blurry background with a kind of aura with the same shape as his form around him. As he is always surrounded by petals, I added some sakura brushes around Subaru, in different colours. Those brushes are a bit transparent and merged into the background.
Sparkling stars and straight scratches are are added to make the scene more unreal. You may notice that Subaru's hair lost a tiny part at the top right, that is in purpose to make his own image unreal and look unmaterial. |(C_C)|

About resolution, 1440x900 is the most accurate in my computer and the best resolution for the sakura photo. I'm very sorry I couldn't make it bigger

For sure, Subaru area a complex and interesting character. I remember him on the clamp manga, "Tokyo Babilon", great work. This one tells is history, about his sister and is envolving with some X 1999 characters. I like this wallpaper, match with Subaru stile, "pretty, but a lot of sadness". The sakura brushes give a special felling on this work, thanks for sharing!

Subaru is by far my favourite character. His story in X and Tokyo Babylon is very painful yet beautiful. I can't help getting all over excited when talking about him.

This scan is hauntingly beautiful (actually, Subaru is XDDD) I love the gorgeous melancholy expression on his face (he must have got that face after all the things he had to go through with these sakura, just as you said :D) And I totally fall for your background; it's a perfect match for the scan. The blurriness and transparency do a great job, enhancing the lovely sad theme of the wall. Subaru-chan just looks like he' doesn't belong to this world... OMG, this one really makes me suffocating >________<

Nice to see some new content in X wallpapers. And a quality one, at that. The dark tones makes the atmosphere, and the background graphics are beautiful. The only thing that maybe could've been left out is those "stripe effects". Anyway, great work.

Subaru is one of the most interesting CLAMP characters I've come across, because he's gone through so much to become who he is. That being said, the wallpaper is gorgeous, and I like the theme of it, along with the cherry blossom symbolism.

I think for a beginning wallpaper, this is done pretty well. You chose colors that work well together - though I may be prejudiced in favor of maroons, purples, and golds, haha. I like the textures you used, because they give a worn feel to the picture. For Subaru, I think that works well because he's had to go through a lot in his young life.

Lovely. I like how dark and sad it is, as to convey Subaru's pain. I also like the touches of sparkles and sakura blossoms. Those details stand out and add texture. Brings my background to life.
