you, this is great! though u could probably get more detail on the lips and the eyes the bandage on the eyes should be...white? is the lines suppose to be sketchy or is it you evil skills [readmore]it's nice how it dosent have rei hates kuryuki on it[/readmore]

Even you said its sooo simple... its soo beautifull rei looks amazing and the contrast between thr wuite black and red colors... great... Well... maybe as kuryuki saids... more detail on the red and enfatize more the white of the bandages... But even that soo great...

First off: good wall on Ayanami Rei from NGE.

I think the part of her eye behind the hair (which is above her left (our right) eye) shouldn't let her eye to be seen. It should have covered the eye so that you see the hair, but not the eye (since the hair is not glassy).

Then as to the lips - I'd have either left them monochrome or added a blood strain from one of the mouth-corners down the floor. Now as it is I can't really understand what's up with the partly red lip - it's neither blood nor lip color.

Other than that a pretty nice wall, even though - as you said - a bit simple. Sometimes the best solution is the most simple one though :). dS.

Beautiful work. Rei with dark hair looks kind of like Shinji's mother . . . hmmm.

I love how the shading, when it's monochrome, becomes something else. It's makes the lighting look uneven as if she's lying under a tree. This wall may look simple but I think there's more depth there than you give youself credit for.

The last thing I will say is this. By removing the glasses that are in the original scan I feel the image loses it's context. But then again it does make one wonder what she's reaching out for.

I think even though you're trying a new style, a bit of your old style still came out in this wall. (What I'm referring to is your consistent use of the color red in your walls)

That being said, I had no idea that this was Rei lol. Mainly because I imagine her to be a blue-haired girl lol. The scan you used is very interesting and I bet it was hard for you to use since some parts of the scan had weird issues (like the Rei's left arm looks awkward in the original scan. You also can't see her right leg really... plus it's a mystery why she's kinda levitating her arm when she's reaching for the glasses on the floor - guess it's supposed to be her cast that's supporting her arm but that space seems a little too void...)

So while the original scan must have been hard to make your own interpretation... you still did a nice job coming out with a "requiem" themed wall. The red eye works nicely with the darker theme and the darker hair gives her a more sullen look. As mentioned by others, there are a couple vector shapes that are done a little questionably, but other then that, the entire piece looks great :) Nice job!

You did not change it enough for me to offer you a fav but I really like this simplified version a lot. It's far more appealing and emotionally substantial than the original scan. The danger of a fair criticism is that there is room to say you are being lazy and plagiarizing. divStar made a comment about the eye. This inconsistency also appears in the original scan. it seem that what you have done is remove two objects from the scan and command your image editor to display the scan in monochrome, thereafter adding a touch of red to the lips and eye.

Do not, misunderstand me I am not slamming your work. The changes that you have made gives this wall a feel that is very different from the original scan. The danger of this submission is not that its too simple but rather that is is too similar to the original. You have been most honorable in citing the original scan. Nice change of feel. I will be looking forward to your next submission because this was a good offering.

It's beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I love how you edited it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like the grayness of it all.It really made the scan look much better. This wallpaper is simple but still very beautiful and the girl looks as if she is dying but its great though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like your b&w colors with dashes of red - they look good here. Though I think the lineart should be cleaner since you're using smooth gradients and such - keep it consistent. And it looks like there are some shadows you applied with the airbrush, and they look kinda out of place against the rest of the vectored stuff. Since I use painting along with vectoring, I would suggest using the pen tool to select areas to erase or mask away, since there are parts that look like they either bleed over the lines or don't fill them in completely. Also some kind of soft gray gradient in the background can't hurt either. :)

It's very nice, i really like how you made it a completely different person with this monochrome color and the black hair. She feels more mature this way. Also, a nice technique is used, i like the smooth shadowing. Overall, this is an awesome, beautiful wall that deserves a fav+!

Well, simple walls are sometimes better than walls with too much color and hard to identify things. I like how you color the eye red, it's got something to it. Oh, and by the way, a change of style isn't so bad at all. NICE!

Simple things can be very beautiful, keep that in mind d: I usually love the red/white/black combination, it's not very good for my eyes so I avoid using it in walls, but it looks so good. I like neat smooth lines, and your wall it's more like a slightly messy sketch, not saying it's wrong, it's just not on my taste d: Overall it's a good wall. I wonder how it would have looked if you would've given it a red glow coming from the floor., ..but that's for me to imagine.

As people have said, while the work could be improved a bit with a bit more attention to details... i personally think you did a nice job on it overall. The hint of red in the eyes is a nice touch which gives the black/white theme a boost. Really good. =)

Nice wall!!! I love the composition and concept of this wall. I also like the title. ^^ I love how Rei looks in this one, also using B&W for it then making her eye red. Her eye is what caught my attention the most. It kinda depicts how she feels. I love the impact that this wall gives.

A lot of work went into this wall, its great on the little details. Fantastic job!

there are a lot of NGE wallies that are very similar to eachother, with the same colors (in this case the light blueish/whiteish color of rei's suit) and objects, but yours is really different and unique. i like the simplistic touch it has, as well as the reduced use of color. and, the lying rei just looks great on my desktop!
