Waiting for this to appear on top favorite walls. Red always works so well with monochrome, esp. with the Vampire Knight theme. All of the right shading, lighting, and perspective to really get the full effect of the wall. Having read of some of the manga, the choice of characters also serves to be quite fitting. Words seem to help fill that space, which is good, but maybe no furigana? It ruin some of the elegance of the kanji and the wall, I feel.

But anyways, fav. Not too many times I get to say that :P

This is superb <3 Kaname is to die for, I can't believe how well you vectored his eyes. It's simply amazing. I agree with Kuryuki an the Yuuki-less version... (want one :3)

I saw this at your site a while ago and was in love with it! You always make such awesome b&w walls with a tad of red and i just love that combo.. Kaname looks amazing! Such a sorrowful face and the eyes are so detailed! The red petals are a great addition I agree with the non-Yuki version (it would be great to have one) Great job +fav

As a person who has become extremely critical of (and all around bored with) Vampire Knight Wallpapers, I have to say that I LOVE this! The sharp whites against the shades of gray and the red petals make this so dramatic. The angle of Yuuki in the background and Kaname in the front looks as though it should have been from the same scan originally. And the text on the side is well-placed and gives the wallpaper a polished feel. Again, I love this and have to add it as a favorite! |(n_n)|

ahaha kaname has a triangular nose! anyway, kaname gets little love from me. i count myself as more of a zero person. xD;; but yay for walling from manga panels. /o/ the thumbnail was very eye-catching and the same goes for the grayscale plus red color scheme. lovely lovely. :3 and i can't help but like the storm of petals. the details in the vector are pretty awesome and i would totally switch up my desktop and put this on, if only there had been less jaggies. >__< that's not your fault though so.

This wallpaper is simply amazing. Kaname's eyes look very cold and heartless, I love the feeling of hopelessness comprised of Yuuki's expression as she looks back to him. Yuuki's eye looks a bit strange, but it's understandable, judging by the tiny, low quality manga scan you used. The petals are also a nice addition. I normally find them bothersome but I adore the way you made them blend in with the rest of the elements here ^_^ Great work! +fav

I love how the true "vampire" eyes stand out amongst the black and white of the rest of the wallpaper. Though I normally prefer more colourful walls, this one was too epic :D Great work!

the red is so poignant amongst all the black, white, and gray. it's so clean and neat and sharp...

and of course Kaname's eyes sort of pierce right through you in the most terrifying and wonderful way. i kind of wish Yuuki's eyes weren't red too, but i understand that they're siblings - lovers, whatever (haha).

I've been trying to catch up on my comments and have been doing so for hours but I wanted to save the best for last and here I am. :D

I'm a huge VK fan I have always thought the art style is one of the most beautiful out there. The raw sketchy style is so appealing it's such a unique approach and I can say I haven't seen a VK wall like this one. Also you have a real talent for depth this is more like a painting then a wall to me it has such a deep rich feel to it and the depth makes you feel like it goes on forever. You also with this wall are giving me my favorite colors, red, black and white. You did a fantastic job. A+++ and a fav.

One of my new favorites. I really like the effects on Kaname's eyes. I'd ask how you did it, but I know nothing of Illustrator, so your answer would be meaningless. Lots of depth to them.

The title, "Akai Yuki" had me confused a moment until I looked closely at the scan. I initially thought it was referring to Yuki, the character, and not snow. :) Is it also a reference to her first memory of Kaname saving her from the vampire?

I really love how the red stands out in the black and white of the rest of the image. It makes Kaname's gaze quite penetrating. You also did a great job taking a so so scan and turning it into something smooth and cged. I like the way you put the credits in Kaname's collar. It's interesting and actually encourages people to read it as opposed to just ignoring the bottom of a wallpaper.

Another comment on the text though. Once again I don't really feel like there's a strong value in putting the Japanese and the English. It looks a lot better than it does in some other wallpapers and I like the usage of the red font for the translation, but I feel that 赤 and 雪 are simple enough characters for those who would be able to read it to know. I think that the yomikata are sort of excessive here >.>
