If I didn't read the Author's soapbox I'd say you're no stranger to vectoring but when I full-viewed the piece I noticed some bits of their hair look rigid, and I wonder if it's due to an overdose of hairspray/gel... To fix this, you could try deleting some of those unnecessary anchor points on the hair. Also, I do wish you'd position the text elsewhere and add a little more character to it. "Ready for the War" is a strong caption, so I think it should be a stronger part of the wall's composition. Might I suggest a color change to black, and some grunge ink splatters to ink-ify it? That aside, I absolutely dig the whole Japanese wood block feel of this. (Hopes for a big widescreen version) :)

I like how you kept the colors of the eyes. It stands out among the dark hair and the face. The blue color of the clothes is also awesome. I don't which has the problem, my computer or AP, but when I try to full view the highest resolution, it appears the 1024x768.

From what I can see from that 1024x768 version(since that's the only I can see),lines of this look kinda jagged... Other than that,the wall looks really nice,the color scheme is good,and also,the image is priceless <3 +favie

Your color scheme is brilliant. I really love the mix of monochrome sepia and blue, it makes the colored parts stand out very nicely. I don't know about you being a "newbie" at vectoring either - your vector work is very clean, and I can't really see any mistakes. Great job.

I also agree about the lines - some of them look a bit too rigid and sharp as if you extracted the image and pasted on the BG. The text is nice but looks a bit weird up there like that...

But, anyway, I like the sepia tones and the blue hues, together with the tree branches in the back. It reminds me of all those old-fashioned samurai paintings. Overall, a really nice job! :)

Did you use the polygonal lasso tool when extracting the image? If you did that's the reason why the edges are too sharp (the hair in particular); I'd suggest a different means next time, I personally use the eraser (though I also have a tablet which makes it easier).

I love the original image, I love the selective colouring (or colour keeping; I'm not familiar with technical terms), I love the background, I love the overlaying shadow motifs.... I love everything.

I think you did a great job vectoring too.

The whole style of this just oodles coolness. The vectoring style used fits it perfectly. I like how it's messy and not too clean or anything, and the messy textures are complimenting it wonderfully.

I don't like the text, but I'm glad it's not on the left side where my icons are. It looks better on the right side.

Definitely using the 1600x1200 version and faving. Great work on a really cool wallpaper. :D

there are some parts that are pretty rigid but this is mad cool! only wish you maybe filled some more parts of it in with shades of tan to give it depth. remember vectoring is all about patience and perfectionism >D

OMG! I'm a fan of the shinsengumi scans, and this wall made me very happy! Love the dynamism in this, the character's expressions, and the colors are just right. Plus the paper effect makes a billion! Never fails.

You did a great job taking that colored picture and transforming it into this. At first glance I thought that you had simply used a black and white picture but upon seeing the picture you used I realized that it must have taken much more work. I really like this wallpaper and the color scheme and background really fit the whole ambience of the wallie.

I think you did really well with this wallpaper - the font you used for the words really suits it, and you kept the colors nice and simple. The expressions on their faces seems to suit the phrase too. I really like it =)

Oh god. Two of my favorite characters of all time together, looking sexy together. I think you did a pretty good job for a "newbie"! :D Love the scan, love the hair, love the clothes.

I like it very much, it is detailed, but simple at the same time, keeping only the blue was an excellent idea. I think that the title of the wallpaper is a little too long though, and it clutters the wallpaper, slightly. Maybe if you just left it as "Ready For War", or made up another title altogether.

But putting it on the old paper effect was awesome, and really payed off. Not to mention your vector is quite clean.

There is something that I really don't like about this wall other than everything else I just mentioned: my size isn't in there!
