In light of the new NGE movie Evangelion 2.0: You can (not) advance, I decided to take a quick break from classes and my One Piece vectors and make a wall dedicated to the brand new character to the NGE world. Mari Makinami has her debut in the new movie which I hope to get my hands on soon once the subs are released.
Always been a fan of Pink, especially when it has to deal with sci fi-ish things, so I chose emphasize the color by making everything else Grey scale.
This will probably be the one and only time I use a scan in a wallpaper just due to the fact that I loved the scan and didnt have enough time outside of school to spend vectoring the whole thing, so maybe after this month is over i will get to go back and vector Mari out and update this ^^ Worked in Illustrator and Photoshop for this. My type is Helvetica Neue.
Hope the NGE fans can enjoy the wall, There may be an update in store for this when I get some time away from After Effects. As always I recommend Widescreen over 4:3 since this was formatted in 16:10 to begin with. Of course all feedback, critiques, and fav's are greatly appreciated!

Nice wall..the colors really fit that scan well...I do think you should have worked more on the typography...adding more different text,and maybe not over the whole bg,but only on some places like above and under that wavy line... But,nice job still...

LOVING the background, great use of pink and gray, the typography is really cool too. I love the different directions the text takes diverging on the swoosh, you have great conceptual ability! Great work! A fav for me!

Vectors are great, but there's just something about Sadamoto's art work that cannot be recreated in vectoring. The way its colored, the way its shaded, just can't be redone with vectors.

Love the combination of gray scale and pink...! Overall, it's a really nice one, but I think you used to much text. She remind me of Yoko or Yomako sensei or maybe both.

This is an amazing wall!
The thumbnail does it no justice. Once I clicked on it, the wall came to life. Wonderful construction and color. And everything is blended perfectly.

Her hotness in this pic just increased 10 folds. And the Pink gives her such a bold and hot look. Simple and yet powerful. This is one of the best pic's of her.
Hope to see a more improved version of this along with some more new one's.
