Note: some of you might be to young to grasp this wallpaper and its vision behind it, dont feel insulted/dumb/whatever, hopefully you will understand ore get encouraged to try to understand it and share a part of my vision
I Will not tell you guys the world is a unfair place because of this and that
I Want to encourage you to become aware of situations in our world. There are always stories becoming accesible to the public in a way of documentaries, news items and much more. Some are gruesome some just deal about the enviroment. Most of us live in a peacefull and happy world with not much to complain about besides that you need to clean up, do groceries ore walk the dog, the usual stuff. But when you see something that conflicts with youre world I would like you to take a look at it, maybe even it is just for a second. Get Aware
I made this wallpaper to help getting people aware and maybe do something one day that helps out others ore helps other people get aware. Maybe you will hold a speech one day ore maybe enter a debate ore maybe just like me make a piece of art. Art is resistance and a way to let youre voice be heard.
_ Speak the truth and you shall be heard _

I can tell a great deal of thought and work went into this piece. The text where art is resistance you use a grey backdrop, but personally I think you don't need it Transparent would have worked fine.
Also the rest of the text under art is resistance seems unnecessary and even cliche. The colors you use give me the impression you favor communism, I hope that is the case.
This is an excellent wall, if you don't have a portfolio of your work, you should start one and put a printed copy of this in there. You have a high degree of art design.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE reference! <3 I really truly like this one. Beautiful wall as I love the message being carried. I only have one problem with it though, grammatical error with the word "THEN," I think what you meant to use was "THAN." So other than that, it would be awesome! Please if you can fix the grammar mistakes, it would be much appreciated.

Their poses and suits are filled with strong spirits of resistance. Marking hiding their faces is very interesting.

Ahh, the motto of my life (well... next to "Magneto was right" har har har). What an amazing wall. Probably one of the best messages/themes for a wall I've seen on this site to this day. I'm fascinated to know more about your views because of this wall~ I'm sure we'd have lovely conversations.
Anyway, great wall and I'm glad you posted it. ^^

Hell of a comeback, Beck, long time no see. Are you here to stay, or is this just to satisfy people like me, who've been drowned in the filthy river of unoriginal and mediocre walls that AP has been supplying over the past week(s)?
Anyhow, your wall is, well, a piece of art indeed. I've been looking for the right words to descibe it for 20 minutes now, but can't think of anything that sums up the message and the artwork without using silly Top Gear-terms like 'fantastic' and 'brilliant'. I mean, it's not a brilliant wall, it's 'just' an expression of a statement that is already shared and supported by many people, including me. The way you did it though, reminds me of those typical anti-communistic graffiti paintings and Che Guevara logo (which you now find on every t-shirt, baseball cap, wallet, lighter, etc <_<). And I love that style, plus it truly supports the message behind it. It's also something I can look at for a long time and find inspiration in. Thanks for that. Just like you I hope more wallers will be inspired by this wall. Not just by it's style, but more importantly by it's message. Thought behind art is definitely something I value above all else. Art is freedom, so you need to take that chance to express yourself.

Art in and of itself isn't enough to "resist". It can be juxtaposed with the Latin proverb "Acta non verba" which means, "Action, not words". Don't get me wrong, art can definitely inspire and open eyes, but there is nothing that substitutes action. True revolutionaries like Che Guevara and Karl Marx understood that time shouldn't be completely wasted on just talking about change.
As for the wallpaper itself; it's decent. I really like the symbol. My only gripe for that is the obviousness of a texture, because of the 90º line of contrast between it and the white background.
It has some design flaws; the text doesn't flow and is probably too plain for this kind of wallpaper. I really like the black stripes on their eyes with words. That's really clever. =]
And I'm glad you like Rage Against the Machine. They had a concert nearby last year and I didn't know till the day it happened. It pissed be off because they hardly even tour. -_-

The truth, the beauty in the ugliness in this wall, it brings tears into my eyes. I value nothing higher than art and artists themselves, art is a passive way to change the world, an honest way to change things. The fearful fact still is though, those who don't understand, don't listen.
No one sees the world in the same way, but you can group people for similarities in how they see the world. Artists, true artists (not those pitiful ones who have a truckload of talent and no message) can appreciate true art unlike anyone else in the world. If the world held nothing but true artists, maybe we wouldn't be in such a chaotic world with arrogant and profoundly useless people as world leaders. If only others would listen. But it's arrogant of us to dream that way, don't you think?

A very interesting perspective that you are coming from. I understand what you are saying, but in some ways I don't get it logically. You're "wise words" make a lot of sense, but I would have not guessed that otherwise unless you would have said so. The wall in my opinion gives me the sense of revolting or rebelling, because of the style you presented. Again though, the text changes that and confuses me, but maybe that is a good thing. How? Well, now there is something for the viewer to ponder. And weather they come up with the right answer or not, they will take action in that.
Very nice wall I must say, and awesome reference to Rage Against The Machine. Those lyrics are probably some of the most intriguing words, and makes your skin crawl if you're thinking too hard about it. Good work.

This wall really caught my eye because the message, although seen a lot elsewhere, it isn't seen a lot on walls and such, since it is so heavy. I like that you are using your talent to make people aware of what's going on around them. I agree with what metalmallow said about art not being a substitute for action and all, although expressing your views through art is an action. I also think that the point of art like this is to inspire people into taking action (as was mentioned in your box), but although art itself is passive, whether the resulting action is violent or not depends:/ At least, that's my opinion.
About the design: There's a line between the image and the rest of the wall which I think you should get rid of. And I wish the symbol was the same darker colored red as the text and the red in the image. That's about it. Nice job ~

NICE!

Wow, I really like what you did with this - there is really something wrong with the world and people today and art is indeed one of the rare ways to make people aware and things cheer up a bit without breaking or destroying something/someone else in return.
As for the wall, I like the game of words and sentences as well as the colors and the simplistic approach. The star in the left corner is a nice addiction but somehow, I can't help but feel it kind of doesn't fit with the rest of the wall...
Other than that, this is an awesome job and definitely deserves a fave. :3

this is love, the scan is genius and i love the text except the text on the faces, i feel its a bit too clean and doesnt flow as well as the text on the bottom. maybe mix up the fonts and colors in the words
and i love the contrast between the texture and the blank whiteness though at the same time i am not digging the symbol--its placement doesnt work with the placement of the scan--i would say bigger and have the scan overlap it just a tad--and i feel like some cutout filters would be awesome applied.
but all in all i'm very glad to see more walls of this genre, stylish and bold with a hint of grunge, expertly combined with text and a bit of modern funk. +fav

This wallpaper is beautiful not only by how well it's designed but by the message it very effectively promotes. Which of course, makes it better than just any old good looking wall. 8)E
The few comments on here from people that don't entirely understand the message or are confused by it makes me sad... I'd like to think that such ideals would be self evident, but I guess they aren't to everyone... To hope that everyone would understand, or take the same thing from it would just be wishful thinking. But there ARE people who do understand, myself included, and to them, this wallpaper is very much appreciated.
About a year ago, for my birthday, I went to a Nine Inch Nails concert. When it was over, I wanted to buy a souvenir, but all I could afford was a little pack with some round pins. I bought them and looked them over more closely when I got home. One of them was green with black writing, and in all caps it said, "ART IS RESISTANCE". I'd never heard the phrase before, and I sat there for a long time in awe of how meaningful I found it. So to find a wallpaper with the same name was something really great. I still have the pin and have attached it to a hat I wear a lot. To this day I'm still finding new meanings in those words and ways of expressing them, and I think the same can be said for your wallpaper.

Amazing.
That is the only word right now that I can use to describe this wallpaper. This wall really does speak out to those who view it and has so much truth in the text. The white background with a bit of grungy-ness really give the feeling of tarnished purity in my opinion; that even if an expressed opinion, be it through art or some other form (of course in this case it's in the form of art), goes against the present day views of the world or an act by a country or government, that the expression in and of itself comes from deep within the person or people expressing it and that that emotion/ act is pure and is being tarnished by whatever it is that goes against the emotion/ act that is being expressed. It also shows 'tarnished purity' by how the expressed opinion [or resistance] comes from something that has already destroyed the purity and as thus can be considered 'tarnished,' such as how in the past many promoted terrible environmental policies, habits, or whatnot and now today most people try to resist by promoting to "Go Green." Another example would be when people rebel against war, which in truth I feel that this wall really supports the opposition of war (probably because of the star with the hand holding a paint brush :P), because war tarnished the purity of the life of the people before the war began.
I also find that the text on top of and next to the three characters influence this feeling of mine; that the people are often darkly ignored, muted, or silenced and that people want and strive for something better through pure acts of trying to change something without using violence.
I dunno, I might be thinking as 'looking through rose colored glasses' at the moment, but it still gives those feelings to me every time I look at this wall and read the encouraging text. Again, only one word to describe this wallpaper that you have created.
Amazing.

I can't say that I totally get the message of this wall, but I just want to say that since this semester I've been taking up an art studies subject that deals with analyzing contemporary expressions of art that I get where you're going. I can recognize some of the style conventions you used, as mentioned some of them are recurring, but there's something more that leads me to give it up for this wallpaper. I think that you picking the Benjamin anime and grunge as your media was a good decision, since some of the anime's themes run parallel with your statement. Amen man! (n_n)-b

The message has such a strong impact. The symbol of a paintbrush over a red star is so cool because it looks like a flag. The figures perfectly complement the message.
