Wow. It's been a while since I have made a wallpaper for anyone let alone the people of anime paper. So I'm happy to give you guys this. This wallpaper may look simple and it is suppose to look like that but it took me a long time and a lot of work.

First of all I started out with this scan: http://www.animepaper.net/gallery/scans/Tinkerbell/item257506/ . When I saw this scan my breath was taken away. The art of this manga is just so pretty and I had to use the scan. However I know nothing of the series Tinkerbell. There was also a problem with this scan. The girl's underwear was showing and my conscious just wouldn't let me use it like that. So I outlined all the black parts of the dress and filled them in with black on a new layer. I st that layer to soft light and then duplicated it. On the duplicated layer I lowered the opacity.

After that I merged all the layers, and started to extract the image using a mask layer. Once that was done I resized the image and turned it into a gray scale. I then opened 3 new images with the highest resolution for the three most used monitor sizes. After that I pasted my scan on to all three. I went back to the scan and undid the gray scale.

On the biggest image size I began playing around with things. I found an image of a sunset I liked and turned it gray scale as well and began playing with on the image. That's how I got the cloud effect on the girl.

Then I found a moon image, blurred it, used a median filter on it and then added it be hind the girl.

I added an outer glow to the girl and feathered all the hard edges on her.

Then I took my brush tool and using 3 different sizes of the round brush made the stars.

The last thing I did was I took the colored image of the girl pasted it over the black and white version, set it to burn, and the lowered the opacity.

Once that was done I copied the image and pasted it on all the other sizes, edited it as needed, put my signature on there and saved it.

That's how I got this wallpaper. I hope you guys like this wallpaper as much as I do, and if you see any flaws please tell me. Also please leave a comment.

Cool. I wasn't too impressed until I saw the full view, and then I could tell it had a lot of work go into it. The little details are done very well, and the effects are cool.

i actually REALLY enjoy this wall surprisingly enough. there are a few technical issues that i just want to put out there first is the issue of jaggedness, i think some of it can be cleaned up to make this wall more professional second are the stars--i feel that maybe the bg would be left better all black or that maybe there should be a gradation of stars--more on the bottom and less going upward. additionally, since you have some purple tones on the wall, i think lighting of the stars would be less monotonous (and look professional) if they were outlining with some purple undertones. other than that, like i said i find this wall refreshingly good given the techniques you played with

hmmm... i think you must change the moon for a less jagged one, this one is jagged and with low quality, maybe you should look for a vectorized moon(or with a better quality). The stars are a bit big, reduce the size, i dont have a link...but you can look for a star tutorial or something to make stars (it has worked for me XD!).

About the girl, i think it looks nice, i think the main problem is the Background. Keep it up!! :3

I actually quite like the oversaturation gradient, it's pretty cool looking with the non saturated top half, it's a unique looking effect!

I think it need to be a little blurred, a Gaussian blur will correct it for better !

It's a very pretty wall and I like the simple colors but like many had already said, the background is the main issue - the moon highlights kind of end too abruptly at the sides and the colors are a bit pixelated and blurry. The edges below her, in the bottom also look too sharp and jagged, especially on the left side.

Other than that, it's a nice wall and the girl also looks nice with that dress. :)

It looks so sweet, aaapa12.

Although, I think there is too much black in it. Midnight light reminds me of shining on than being behind you. Maybe if you put some grass underneath her and move the moon up and a little bit smaller, so it's shining on her more than just placed behind her. The moon right behind her doesn't really fit title. Midnight light reminds me of shining on than being behind you.

Because you're working in monotone colors, it's especially important to make efforts to make things seem less... Flat. The sky in the background is completely flat. The brushing is all the same size, nor is there a sense of depth. Not that crazy about the white squiggles going around the dress since it makes the scan look poor in quality. Same for the blending used on the clouds. You want to use a softer round brush and lower the opacity when brushing away to make it look more random and less shaped.
