Final Fantasy IX FFIX Vivi Sunshine

I would say very simple wallpaper, one guy from FFIX ( I think, I never played that game) and he 's alone in the nature with a tree :)

its good for your first try. i like the light in it but the chara looks a bit 'unreal' in the concept.

Just find a way to make everything match. The character doesn't quite match the background you made for it. The sky could use a little work. I'm guessing you used a filter to make your sky. Instead of using filters, I think it's better if you use photos of real skies as reference.

Good first wall :). Composition is sensible, and the stuff you've created is pretty good. It all kinda makes sense too :).

I think maybe the chara doesn't quite fit owing to the slight confusion/contradiction over the light sources and shadows. When stuff is illuminated by a single bright light source (like the sun when it's rising/setting) all of the shadows either point towards it or are on the opposite side of the object to the light. If you look at how dark one side of the tree is, this is kinda different to the characters shading. Also, the shadow under the tree is like one cast by the sun at mid-day, but the chara shadow is like that cast in the evening.

That sort of thing can all be learnt by surfing for tutorials about perspective and lighting :). You may also want to hunt down a tut on making clouds. In general you don't want to use the cloud filter to actually make clouds. It has its uses, but it's probably the most badly named filter there is - it just don't make clouds. Stocks + filters; brushing, or smudging and blurring are much better techniques for getting clouds :).

i cant say much from mines, jeje, i am a newbie making wallpapers too... but thanks to my brother and sister i got some more ideas of how to improve...

it is a beautiful wallpaper for a first; I find the space where we find vivi very relaxing. Considering I adore the character I can only like ^^ beaud work and thank you!

Very simple and soothing to look at so i like this quite a lot. Vivi is one of the most memorable characters from nine so i aprrecaite any pictures of him.

It is a simple wallpaper but i like it because i'm a big fan of the Final Fantasy games. The next won could only be better^^! My note would be a C+.

it's a nice first wallpaper, although it's slightly boring. i can tell you're trying to juxtapose Vivi's extraordinary look with the ordinaryness (is that a word?) of nature but perhaps the picture would have more life to it if you added something like maybe a picnic basket and blanket under the tree to suggest Vivi's just out doing normal things. anyway, that's just my two cents.

I like simplistic wallpapers and that's what this is so I like this. However, Vivi doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the wallpaper. Other than that, it's perfect. Plus Vivi is so cute, how can you not like it. :P

Nice background, however the character is just standing there for no apparant reason. I feel the wallpaper would be more engaging if he was doing something e.g. sitting (aka chilling) or interacting with other characters or the environment.

Vivi, nice character, well let's see, it's your first wall so I'll take that in consideration, you did good, what I like the most is how you made his shadow on the grass, nice job making that, next time, I recommend that you vector Vivi's scan and then maybe he'll fit better in that quite realistic background, nice job in your first wall ^_^ keep it up.
