Another Air Gear Wall

Initially it was just a page colouring but decided it would be good to have as a wallpaper! So that meant a lot of editing to make it more stand alone.

The battle is taking place at night so I put in a full moon and starry night bg. On other panels of the battle the moon was stylistically very large so I tried to maintain it on this wall.

What I like best about this wall, if you follow your viewing like a manga, that is right to left and up to down, it creates a great action sequence! It starts of as two opponents rushing to each other shot from a distance - and then a close up on both the opponents faces/eyes.

Layers: 50+ Time Spent: Cant remember, at least 4 All-Nighters.. Hardest Part: Never-ending touch ups here and there...line work especially Easiest Part: The eyes and the swords.

Great job with the coloring and background! I really like how you have the night sky and moon in the background!

The only gripe I have is that it isn't in wide res :(

haha okay...widescreen res to be noted.

AG double page spreads are usually closest to 1600x1200 res, so if i were to make it wide screen I would have to draw in the extra "wide parts" Im sure people wouldnt want a simple stretched image. Though depending on the wall and how popular it is I might draw in the extra background etc. and upload a widescreen version down the track.

Wow. I've always loved some of the imagery in Air Gear but you've taken something great right off the pages and made it even greater! Ikki's such a fantastic protagonist.

Love this; a definite favourite.

Amazing job on the coloring. You did well on vectoring it too (at least the outlines seem very homogene and though I think you vectored it - or you did a perfect job on extraction).

Overall: definitely worth a +fav.

I really love it! You did a great job coloring the scan! I just think the sky is a bit too blue and the moon is a bit too real. I think it would've been better if you've removed it since it doesn't suit the lighting. Other than that, it's a pretty good wall ^^

This looks pretty cool,good choice for a wall...I do think it needs more work...especially the moon...it should be brighter and blurred,it's style clashes with the rest too much..also,the skyscrapers are different style,because they don't seem vectored as the rest,and also the water is too flat... overall,it's a fine wall^^

You did a really good job on this one! I really admire your patience, I don't think I would be patient enough to do all of this :) I also like the background you chose, it fits the picture perfectly. You also chose a nice scene to go with it. Keep up the good work!
