P(T_T) oh my it's been a long while since I've submitted a piece to this site. School has kept me quite busy.

First I'd like to say that these headphones hear are pretty darn amazing. (although quite pricey) I can honestly say I've heard better instrument quality than my cousin's BOSE set.

This piece only took a few hours, I first cleaned the scan and extracted the character. Then combined a few techniques and elements I've used in my previous walls. Playing with many different types of textures, gradients, and blending options finally gave me a color to settle for.

My aim was to craft together a unisex paper although there is a very smexy ecchi character as the focus. I've taken the advice from past criticisms saying I need more colors to my preferable simple taste. I honestly like the alternate white versions of the paper below but I am making papers for the community and not myself right? :P

Finally I blended all the color balances together to make sure all the layers and elements looked nice together and here it is. I positioned it so that Windows users will have icon space on the left. ENJOY!

Below is the alternative version in both standard and widescreen formats.

Nice starburst, I like the heart, not too hot for the outer glow style shadow around the outside. Looks good around the character though! Looking forward to your next wall! ^_^

Audio being my hobby, I can honestly say that those headphones aren't worth the money. The brand name should be the first clue, but the always-on noise cancellation is the second. Audio at this end (the 300+ audiophile end) is about getting as clean of a signal into the headphones as possible, and hopefully hearing as clean (undistorted) a signal as possible coming out of your headphones as sound. For 100 dollars, I'd say these were worth a listen, but the extra 200 seems to be going toward paying dre, and marketing.

If you are looking into buying audiophile type equipment, your choices at the 300 dollar range are the Sennheiser HD600's (650's on ebay possibly), which are good for rock, the AKG K701 (better for classical music), among a few others. If your headphones aren't made by: AKG, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, Grado, Denon, Audio-Technica, or Stax, and they cost 300 dollars, you've been royally hosed.

Noise canceling is nice, but it can be had in a pair of headphones costing a fifth or less of what these headphones cost. You won't find audiophile headphones that include noise canceling (that can't be switched off anyway). If you are saying to yourself "but I'm not an audiophile!" then you don't need to be spending 300 dollars on headphones period. Audiophiles not only spend hundreds of dollars on headphones, but also on expensive equipment to drive those headphones (an ipod isn't going to cut it at the high impedance/low sensitivity end of the spectrum that audiophile headphones exist in)

My piece having been said (summary: stay away), I do enjoy this wallpaper (the headphones look nice, if nothing else. I still prefer the look of my K701's though. You may have seen them gracing the head of Mio from K-on) and headphone girl wallpapers are always appreciated.

(I've always loved how Japanese companies market headphones by putting them on anime/manga characters)

^You really know your stuff! Thanks for the comments, I'll look into those headphones you've suggested. I'm really into classical music so hearing something as close to a live orchestra in my ear is worth the investment. Thanks for your input :)

Just don't hate me when the output on your PC or Ipod doesn't have enough power to drive the audiophile cans :P You'd be surprised how many people buy expensive headphones, and then wonder why they sound fairly awful on their Ipod Nano. There is a reason people pay hundreds of dollars for dedicated headphone amplifiers. My advice to you would be to find a local audio shop and listen to some comparisons between a cheap pair of headphones, and an audiophile pair. If you can't tell the difference, you are lucky, and you've saved yourself hundreds of dollars (there are a lot of us that can't go back to low-end headphones because we've become spoiled by professional quality gear, for lack of a better way to put it) I don't know if I'm any happier with my 300 dollar pair of headphones (hooked up to a 300 dollar amp) than I was as a kid with my awful Koss headphones hooked up to my walkman (CD walkman, I'm not that old), but I still own those headphones, and the difference between them and my most recently purchased headphones (the aforementioned AKG K701's) is staggering.

It's not uncommon for people to get into audio and then wind up a year later with a thousand dollars worth of gear that has been recommended to them. All of the people that this happens to (it happened to me) wonder what the heck happened, and half of them wish they could go back. The best advice out there is to choose wisely before spending any money.

A very cute wall. Although the character could have been extracted a little better, some of the edges (especially on the hair) are jagged. Otherwise nice job on the backdrop, and I like it. And the headphones that she's wearing are an actual brand? Wow. I want some! I don't like BOSE though, I have a few Sonys but my best ones are Ear Pollution headphones, best ones ever.
