i thought about gideon's wall when i saw the thumb too xDD definitely quite different from your usual details, and also very colourful C: it's fun looking at all those road signs. but i find some signs overshadowing the character bit too much

Love the style of the signs =D, awesome colors and fits Nakamura's style very well. I also like the background, looks really cool. Only thing that looks a bit off is the lighting flash with text, but that doesn't matter much^^ Nice tribute wall overall, the concept was so good that it deserved another wall xD Keep up the great work!

When i saw this i thought it was Gid's wall that was just modified but its not. I like it more since you added some of the signs and make it more colorful. Nice scan used as well it really fits the whole concept. Overall i love the added signs! +fav! ^^,

Haha, I especially like the whole idea behind this. Just like Gideon's original, it's not just a pretty wall, but it's a display of a great artist's mindflow. So even though I'm not really that enthusiastic about the style and off perspective, I definitely like this wall in a respectful way.

I did recognize the wallpaper since I saw it many times in the Wallpaper Showcase, I have to say your vectors are awesome, it's colorful and shining, but I also have to say as a Nakamura fan, you didn't made the right traffics at all, it's far from a Nakamura style, Gideon did the nice choice of them. Maybe you have something to express or an Idea in mind that I can't see it, so excuse my little brain ^^ But still an awesome wallpaper.

At first I was like WOAH WOAH THIEVERY

but i guess if you have gid's permission it's fine...

the vector of the character is VERY nice, but i think the background looks very poor when compared with the character vector. it's kind of empty, and i wish there was some texture or similar outline style of the character. this way it just looks slapped on :/

and the fonts are kind of hideous...i wish you would have picked some better ones...or perhaps made some yourself. (since you were working in illustrator)

sorry if i sound harsh, but if you want to tribute something i think you should add more creativity or exceed the original piece...

Yay. I'm not going crazy -- this wallpaper follows Gid's concept except with your own twist (would the girl represent you then?) Love the idea of mimicking other's works from time to time. Similarly I can definitely see some of your own styling, esp. with the sign ideas. It reminds me of your DtB wallpaper.

Criticism? Spike's plane to be resized to be slightly larger -- it looks too much like a toy/lacking a few more details to make it look more definitive. Sometimes, advertising on the wallpaper itself (although, it makes sense) is a bit distracting.

Had fun seeing how many anime/manga references I got. Love the title -- everything made sense instantly!

I won’t compare which wallpaper is better: Gideon or yours. I’m just gonna comment on the things I see in here period. Both are the same, with small differences, that’s all I gotta say regarding each.

As far yours goes (roughly):

Character and BG do not blend entirely as they don’t feel like one. Detail versus simple.

There are too many signs that the whole thing feels clustered. Sometimes less is better.

Some of the images are way too detail to be display on a road sign. On publicity boards I don’t mind.

Since this is a tribute of some else work, I won’t go into creativeness at all.

Anyways, keep it up.
