This is just a matter of my taste, but the background seems far too busy for this vector. The Background is a kind of distraction; especially in the upper right quadrant. The hand in that part of the wall has a ghostly translucent quality that I think is displeasing. The lighting seems inconsistent. Light comes from the front making the hand seem translucent, and it's from behind making the head cast a shadow on the back of the hand. It's on the right shoulder creating a reflective highlight and the background is awash in radiant blue hues that are making the colors of the kimono look plain. If light is coming in from the front of the chara, lighting the palm and making it look translucent, why is there so much shadow on the chest and no shadow on the back? The "Come, let's play!" seems badly positioned. Again I think that the BG is a big part of the problem. Have you considered a BG with no shapes on the right side and less luminosity.

Consider the lighting affects of your vector first (the reflections and shadows), then the directions from which light comes to produce those effects, after that select a BG that indicates the occurrence of that type of lighting effect.

its cool wall, love the extraction, but i think you should maybe change the font but since this was my fav scan of him and you walled him you get my fav+

Seeing this reminds me that I really should finish this series. ;D Seriously, though, I really like this wallpaper. I love the colors used in it. Although I haven't seen the original scan used, I'm certainly going to look for it now.

The simple patterns doesn't realy suit this scan, they are meant more for abstract background, and your is definitely towards scenic. Also he is quite complex compared to them.
