Well, what can I say about that wallpaper. To be true I must admit that I\'m really speechless at the moment cause I keep on looking at this gorgeous wallpaper (staring would be a better word) but I\'m not really able to put my thoughts in word. At least I will try ^^

First let me say that I think that the idea for that wallpaper is wonderful. I guess it\'s because I loved the scenery in AVATAR and both of you were able to make a wonderful wallpaper with the impressions of the movie. Second is that the scan you choose is perfect for that.

But the most important thing for me is that everything in that wallpaper works perfect with eachother and that the work on that wall is nearly perfect. The background seems to be alive for me and the hole scenery makes me feel very good.

You see, I really have problems to find the right words to show you how much I\'m impressed by that wonderful wallpaper and that\'s why I\'m stopping at this point.

I have no words to describe this awesome scenic wall, it has a gorgeous and superb art style which takes us into an imaginary world where everything is possible, the result of an amazin' combination. Wow this is really pretty. Great textures used and the painting is perfect. The only complaint I have is that what seems to be the tail appears a little too much to the right, looks weird for me. (Though "tail" is an assumption because I haven't seen this anime ><)

quite some nice detail that went into this one. You applied the style of the movie very well to the scan, good job, both of you! There's one thing that bothers me though, the ear is totally out of place, it looks like it would come out of her forehead, I recall that the ears of the Na'vi were in the same position as humans... But good job nevertheless.

It's original. Never thought I would see an Avatar wall on AP. I say the main attraction of the wall is the nice painting on the character's body.

Some things bother me a lot. I don't like how a lot of the background is embossed. The ear seems out of place because it looks so flat and isn't in perspective to the character.

Very nice work! I really hope you won't get into any copyright-problems though, Cameron & Co. are really protective about the whole concept and looks of Pandora and Avatar. On the other hand, I don't see why that would happen specifically since here at AP we use (steal) work from artists anyway.

Now that that's out of the way, I want to gush and drool over the background - you guys did an awesomely great job in making it look like a scene from Avatar~ The texture on the tree branch and those wispy floating jellyfish-like thingies are to die for too~ indeed, almost everything in this wall is perfect - the only gripe I have would be about the strong outlines on the girl's body which seems out of place since there are no obvious outlines in the rest of the wall.

Still, that's only a minor detail, and congrats once again for making such a successful collab :D +fave

This wall is a perfect example of what AP is all about. It's a community of people of different backgrounds, race, and creed, who in one way or another are connected for their love of art. The collaboration of Horseradish and Sashinka made this wall truly remarkable in the sense that their styles were molded together to make something great. Just like in Avatar...

I love the idea and the concept but I somehow think the textures a bit too strong and the eyes could use more saturation/color. Everyone else already mentioned the ear and the tail which look a bit odd, as well as the outlines on the girl.

wow. just wow. avatar freak joining the party. Wow and wow and i just cant say how much im impressed with the idea you guys got. sadly i never thought of that ^^'. Anyway, the vector and painting and done very good, and i especially love those white dots on her, it was always so cool on avatar's body.Oh and you should have made eyes more YELLOW to make it even more outstanding like it was in avatar :(........ Overall very cool idea, though it would be so much awesome if it was guy so i could droll over his body, but since there was no such thing as possible guy reproduction this should do then ....cries over the lost bishie body....

oh and also there are some negative things: the texture makes some places flat, the tree of life looks weird with glowing, it looks like its sticked. also the waterfalls are too blured, its hard to notice that they are waterfalls. and on the girl it could have used more shaddings. when i think about it whole image looks flat.

Haha, that is a very interesting idea! On the whole, the scene looks very awesome, but I think that there are a lot of technical aspects that could be improved.

Firstly, there needs to be shadows in her eyes to create depth (see the original scan), otherwise, the eyes look very flat and unfinished. In this setting the shadows would have to be even more intense than in the scan. If you add the shadows and deepen the top of the iris (like have a gradient) then the eyes will really pop out and have an impact.

Her ear and breast also look unfinished, mostly because of the lack of texture/stripes on them. If the stripes can't be added, I think there should at least be deeper shadows. Oh, I think there needs to be more distinct shadows and highlights throughout her whole body and face so that she would match the 3Dness of the trees.

And I think the outline of the girl needs to be a lot deeper so that she would look as contrasted as the background. In my opinion, light outlines make things look flatter rather than more realistic in a lot of situations. If there needs to be thick outlines, they may as well be dark (not black) to add contrast.

Here are some other shorter comments I have:

• No blue lighting seems to be reflected in the hair.

• The glowing dangling thingies from the trees look awkward (non realistic) coming to such a pointy end. I think they were rounded in the movie.

• Similarly, tree branches don't come to a sharp point.

• The texture in the BG makes the waterfall look fake, like it's just painted on a wall. So there is no depth. I think some of the balls of light make the depth more confusing.

Nonetheless, congrats on getting this highlighted! Your hard work paid off! :)

I'm not very fond to comment on wallpapers - except when asked - since I think I didn't have much experience in wallpaper making to express, I guess, a rightful feedback. At least, it was the case until I see that your wallpaper got highlighted. I guessed that for once someone (me) could post a negative comment (those who have weak heart might stop reading now.)

In short I don't like it. There is good parts I won't deny it but they're somewhat overpowered by the bad ones. Like it was already said, the ear looks pasted onto her face and then not really integrated. The feathers coming from behind the ear looks strange too. They don't blend too well. The texture on the tree look also funny especially on the left most part. The vertical things in the background look copy/pasted with the glowing effect under them. The furthest part of the background looks really flat. Because of the textures perhaps ? I don't know. The perspective on the bottom is kind of strange. We seem to be a little more high than the girl but the blue plants are really vertical giving out the weird perspective (at least for me.) The green vegetations on the bottom don't blend too well with the rest. A matter of style I think.

That's all for the negative comment. I guess I'm not too harsh and it's probably a matter of liking but well, at least it's not a meaningless comment ^^

The colours are actually pretty ugly. I'm not a big fan of the Avatar art style at all. That alone keeps me from watching it.

The wall itself, though... needs improvement. Namely, it needs to be blended a lot more. The texture with the filter inner shadow really kills it...

first congrats on the highlight and promotion C: and nice concept the painting on the character's quite nice. and i like how everything goes together. and the background's pretty too *o* it looks like a waterfall. those jellys are really well done. overall i think you captured the fantasy theme and used glows well.

next, -for those who only like positive comments don't click on spoiler- spoiler: pure critique without beating around the bushes

i can really see lots of things improved on this wall. basicly most of what mouton mentioned

1. the lines on the girl's tail. they're too straight, as they are stripes on the tail it should curve.

2. background, first the stripes hanging of the trees, due to the emboss on it it seems flowing rather than part of the tree. the glow is nice though, just the top part. and IMO the texture should be taken off for smoother eye appeal. but mainly just the tip with the branches

3.branches. the emboss again. i think you were trying for a 3D effect, but in this case i think i'd be better if u just painted/vectored the shadows in, since the emboss does not give the branches shadows where it's needed, rather it makes the branches look sluggish than hard. and that quite contrasts with the big branch in the front which btw i thought was pretty nice.

1. very back in the background, right above the girl i see something like a lightning brush. i personally find that takes away the depth, and to my eyes it also feels like it takes away the quality

2. those purple plants around the girl. i find the ones that look like fist distracting, the paint work isn't smooth enough and it's not shiny like everything else. not quite fantasy like like the rest of the wall. i find the purple plants with hair like tips better.

3. the girl's ear. it screams out to my eyes. maybe adding some dark stripes would help, but it almost seems like its part of the painting that's not finished yet. quite flat compare to the rest

if you read this far, I'm quite glad. and I hope my wording wasn't too confusing since I basicly typed everything I was thinking >.< it's nice to comment like that without trying to sugar coat some parts. though if your offended I didn't mean any offence.

Wow amazing wallpaper, i love how you caught the feeling of the movie into a 2D image. It's dark but still nice to look at. It gives a certain calm to who ever is looking at it. really nicely done!

Some areas look rather flat while others are obviously supposed to show depth. Love the skin but the ears... Flat. Like some kid ran in with a sticker and decided to slap it on.

Avatar was all about being in 3D. I'd have concentrated on that.

First thing i noticed when i fullviewed this was the embossed look on some of the things like those glowy dangling things (i have no idea what it's called. I did'nt watch the movie). Like some of the others have mentioned, if you wanna create a more 3D look, then it'd be better if you did your own shading and lighting instead of using the emboss tool etc...Because that just gives it a weird awkward embossed look instead of the 3D look which you were probably aiming for.

I've also noticed that you seem to use some default grass/crops brushes to create the grass field as i see some repetition there. So instead of repeatedly using the same brushes to create the grass, it would've been nicer if you could paint it out instead so that it looks more natural. I also agree that her ears looks flat and her tail looks awkwardly placed. The waterfalls could also use a more defined look too. Currently i just see it as a blue blur. Try adding some more colors to it like more different shades of blue and white to create the foaming frothing part at the bottom of the waterfall. It'll make it look more like a waterfall than what it currently is.

Now onto the good parts (yay!). I love how that huge tree branch was painted. It's very detailed right down to the wooden texture. I would've loved to see a lot more of this detailed painting style applied to the background. Those floating microorganisms are probably one of the best parts in this wallpaper. It looks really nice with the soft and subtle glow. This kinda soft glow woud've looked great on those dangling glowing things on the trees. The way her skin was painted also looks nice. I also like how you added some of the glowing dots on it. Overall it was an interesting idea, but with some more work, it could've been better. Hope you don't take it the wrong way. These are just some of my constructive critiscms instead of the usual "omg this is awsomenesssssss!" kinda comment. Well anyway congrats on the highlight and also on your promotion (yes i see that donut! xD)

The idea is great, and you two really did well to transform the scan and capture the essence of the nabi? navi? whatever lol What i like the most here is the lighting and that tree that branches of from the bottom left corner. Great textures on that, really looks nice and the lighting gives a mysterious feeling to it. I Even though i don't like the look of the navi all catgirl like (its not you its james cameron, im just not a fan of girls with tails and whiskers lol) you two did a great job on the girl. Execution wise there are a few areas that could have used more attention and time. I don't think I need to tell you what they are looking at your gallery this seems to be the first full on scenic wallpaper that you worked on. So of course there will be faults when you are out of your comfort zone, believe me i know XD But you are heading in the right direction and i have to say you have some great ideas (which you showcased with this wallpaper) and all you need to do now is to take from this everything you have learned and damn you can learn a lot from sashinka. She maybe a bit of a nutso and a crazy woman (hahaha kidding if you are reading this sushi XD) but shes a nice and a talented artist i'll giver her that. My final thought would be to not use def ps filters and brushes, there are some quite nice ones that i use but i never go to anything else. They are not really meant for any artistic credibility, only to make your job easier. After all the program was made by coders not designers. So use them sparingly, and wisely lol And the fact that almost all the filters have been overused so much many people hate just seeing them, of course that makes it like really easy to spot them since our eyes have been bombarded with them a million times over. Once again, great idea, execution needs some work but that will come the more you expose yourself to this kind of wallpaper. Keep at it and i wanna see an even better wall from you next time :) (yup better than this lol, gonna be a hard one to top this huh? XD)

For some reason, her ear does look a bit out of place @.@ Unless those creature's ears come from the right side of their foreheads o.o I wouldn't know <_>

The background is absolutely gorgeous. I really do have to applaud. Your character, however, seems less digital than the rest, but it's just as well. It really fits better that way. I love all of it, especially how the dark red hair and orange feathers stand out so much against the blue. Great work.

That's a nice idea you have there,however, there are some technical problem with this wallpaper, even though I appreciate your effort of using textures, they are just not working well, i just think the texture should follow the curve of the trees, right now, they just look very flat. Vectors of the trees branches are weird and the strings hanging from the tree branches looks like bunch of sticks. And embossed is just not a way to define curve. Overall, there is no depth in this background. The only thing that i appreciate is the flying glowing thingy, and the main character they look closest to the real thing and the main character. I'm sorry if i'm being harsh here, it just that, I think Avatar is so beautiful, so I expect this wall to be very close to the real thing.

Very awesome work on the character painting and vectoring its look superb Something i can't help but not like is the branches that's suppose to look like the mother tree(the growing tentacles thingy). They could do with some refinement, the blending of those layers and the texture used on them do not blend the whole scene together that well(changing the texture on those small branches will do good). I understand that it creates a 3d effect, but there might be a little too much shadow causing it to really pop out from the background which ended up not looking like something thats suppose to be in the background. Just my personal 3cents worth to give some suggestion to make it better then what it is now. Keep up the good work. Avatar ftw!

The minute I saw this wallpaper I screamed because I'm a huge Avatar fan and I bet tons of people on AP is a huge fan as well. Although, I observed that some people aren't a fan but they still love this wallpaper. I believe that makes a great and unique artist to accomplish such a piece.

I love the whole anime/avatar concept. I think you both were very creative in doing this piece. I do wish it was just a little more colorful to fill in that whole Navi transformation. I do believe Pandora was a lot more colorful but this is just an opinion. I think it's still a great wallpaper - don't get me wrong! :)

You've really done some great work on that image! It's inspired in Avatar,but it still fells like a very original image if you ask me ^^ It's really a nice job,besides I like things that are blue colored,so I really loved this one =)

This is so amazing that I have no words for it. It feels very Avatar-like, but the embossing looks a little funny, perhaps painting it would have worked better. Also, it may just be me, but I think the ears could be tweaked a tiny bit- the positioning looks a bit high for my tastes.

On the other hand, this is a brilliant fusion of the real and anime. :D It's a great collaboration that works to both of your strengths, and you're rightfully proud of it!
