8)E it's been so long since my last submission ! This time La Corda d'Oro. To be honest I have not watched the anime, but I just feel like making a wallpaper out of this picture #.(n_n)

This will definitely go into my little record of wallpapers to NOT fullview...

I'm sorry to say this but I think the QC team screwed up a bit on this one. When I first saw the thumbnail, it caught my attention and so I thought it deserved closer scrutiny. However, upon said scrutiny, I realised that there are whole bunch of problems within the wallpaper.

Problem No.:- 1) The clipping of the character can be A LOT better. It is obvious that some portions are undercut, with some of the white borders visible while other portions were overcut, cutting into the character outlines (e.g. around the hair)

2) The snow well...doesn't look like snow. It looks more like a computer screen glitching and causing all those artifacts (in the computer sense of the word) to appear. Snow does NOT look like random polygons floating around. You should have a look around the internet or at least the AP gallery to see how snow if properly rendered

3) The background filtering, while a nice touch, causes the character to not blend in with the background (the bad clipping isn't helping much either). I know it's tricky to try to blend an anime character with a real background but it's been done successfully before. Maybe you could try finding a tutorial or something?

4) I think it would've been nice if you quoted some of your sources. Maybe if you linked the original pic of the character, viewers would have a better appreciation of the difficulty of your clipping. Plus, unless of course you took the background picture yourself, it's only common courtesy to acknowledge the original photographer for using his/her works. This also applies to any third-party textures you may have used

All in all, you have a nice art style (I probably won't go as far as to say unique but it's visually appealing at least) and it's just sad to see that going to waste with a slipshod execution. Try improving in some of the technical areas and your overall wallpaper quality (as well as viewer reception) should improve.

A bit harsh there?

I like the background effect, as well as the surreal colors. There are problems with the extraction (notably the top of the hair and the right arm), but with some practice you can get really good at that. Other than that, the only other gripe is the snow. True, snowflakes are geometric shapes, but not squares and triangles haha. It looks kind of cool, but it looks really uniform; best to just go with circles of varying sizes, densities, and opacities

Ditto above - not a fan of the non-snow looking snow, and the extraction/blending could definitely be improved. Try going over the outlines with an eraser set at low opacity, and if needed go over the outlines with a dark brush (again set with low opacity) so you don't lose the outlines altogether. With that said I do like the overall look of this wall, even though the execution needs polishing ^^;

Aww, cute. La Corda is a great series. :) I've been reading the manga, not watching the anime, but I definitely recommend it! Now onto the wall, I do think that person number 1 was a bit harsh there with the critique, but they have valid points. I love looking at the wall from the thumbnail--the colors are some of my faves, and what's-his-face looks so adorable in this scan. I like your idea with the scenery, but it just needs to be polished more. From afar, the snow does look like snow, but up close it doesn't. I think it's the choice of brushes you used that makes it just look like jaggedy...scratch marks instead, lol. If you want to make snow, just use the fuzzy-looking blurred default brush in PS. And add some glows. That's the simplest way. As for the extraction, that can easily be fixed. :)

So don't get down about this one! Again, I love the concept and how it looks, just the quality needs a little work.

I like your conception and colors but also I agree with nova-kun , sorry to say that, it looks like unfinished to me. I can see that you have a good skills to improve it and make this wall much much better therefore I am surprised that you have not used them up. 8)E greets, bee

I agree that at first glance this wallpaper looks really unique. At a closer look it does begin to fall apart a bit, The character could be blended into the background a little better. And if you would of used a snowflake brush with blur effects, I think it would have turned out better possibly. Having a clear foreground character in front of a murky background sets them too far apart and looks weird to me.

Hooray for La Corda D'oro. Its been a while since I last viewed this series nonetheless, nice wallpaper! Matches well with Keiichi ( I think? ) great effect, it greatly reminds me of medieval times. lol. The yellow tint is really nice to look at. Wonderful. Keep up the great work.

I really really like this wallpaper, but the white things around his arms get on my nerves. Guess the magic wand isn't that all magical. Pity. The guy is really cute.

well, not bad, my main concern on this one is being not blended enough to the bg >.< if you can mend it, it may change into a better wallies... and its looks flat, well a tiny bit xD

Well... I think even if there isn't a complete fusion between the background and the character, I really love the concept... it's a good work, so I'm partially agree with nova-kun.
