So... just one person seemed to see the first one, so here it goes again, with some changes.
o I had this idea bothering me since I first saw the Sakurabito ending. That picture of Byakuya wearing Senbonzakura's mask sent chills down my spine, I SO loved it. The title comes from anime episode 231 "Byakuya, Disappearing into the Cherry Blossoms" where Byakuya disappears after protecting Renji and Rukia from Senbonzakura, in the beginning of the Zanpakuto arc.
The pic came from a screenshot I took from the ending. So vectoring was hell! And it was so dark and blurry!! The top part, and the top teeth I redrew them completely, they didn't even exist. And the rest was half what I saw in the picture, half based on what I could see on better quality Byakuya and Senbonzakura pics, and half gut-vectoring (doesn't that make three halves? meh, nevermind)
I played a bit with gradients, I particularly liked how it came out on the mask and scarf. The hair is a bit messy, might as well work a bit on it for the next revision, 'coz I couldn't make it work with gradients, but I wanted to know what you guys think of it for now.
The petals I was hoping of vectoring them from an already existing Byakuya pic, but ended up drawing them myself, 'coz I couldn't find any pic with the petals I liked, I hope they don't look too terrible.
So I hope to get some advice if there's anything else I should do with this, I'm pretty happy with how it looks now, but wanna know if there's anything else that needs improvement (besides the hair)
Second revision: I finally fixed the hair, for as much as I could figure, played a bit more with gradients, blurring and smudging. Added brush texture to the BG, loved how it looked. (texture from http://gvalkyrie.deviantart.com/art/GVL-Soft-Texture-brushes-39084831). Added the text (font: Mulan). I used the gradient to give the effect of "disappearing", I kinda liked it. Please? Feedback? Though I like it as it is right now

i really like the vectoring work done here but i'm personally not a huge fan of the colorize concept. this is a very cool wallpaper and theme, but when i think of cherry blossoms i don't think of blue, even though it might look a little funny if the whole thing was pink.
either way, i like it a lot!

First off, great job with the vectoring. Hell, working with a screen shot from the ending, you got guts mate.
Very interesting centralpiece. I have to admit, I didn't even see that one at all. You must be scrutinising every single frame in Bleach. That's dedication right there isn't it ?
The font.. um.. doesn't quite work out as one would expect eh. Caplocks are fine, especially when Byakuya's about. He's fierce, proud and his presence is meant to be domineering. The fading effects complements the title of the wallpaper handsomely. However, that font.. if I have to put it out... hm.. probably it's too edgy. I feel it's competing with the foreground for attention. Since it has orginally a small space to start with, this skewed the attention too much. Maybe you can make it a tad smaller and experiement with other fonts ?
Maybe even scale down Byakuya's pic a bit too, so that he's not THAT in-your-face.
However, overall, love your wall.
