1600 and 1280 res available at pixel ellipsis, as always :]
Yusuke Nakamura is one of my favorite artists, ever. So in a way I never thought I'd end up walling something of his, because his artwork is just - perfect. What is there for me to add? But after I saw the first round theme for the MT K.O. Competition and stared at this gorgeous Yusuke Nakamura scan sitting pretty on my AP scan wishlist, I sighed and proceeded to wall it. It was the perfect scan for this round, not just because I adore the original artwork so, but also because I love to read x]
The original scan from Nat was so clean that I basically vectored straight over the scan, with very minor CGing here and there :D The right side of the wall turned out to be a *****because I freehand-vectored all the extensions from scratch... whatever that means. AKA I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to make sure my vectoring matched with the original artwork, and my clouds and rocks don't look like ass >_> But at the end of the day, if you looked at this wall and thought that this was one huge scan, or something along those lines, then I accomplished what I set out to do. Because Yusuke Nakamura is love < 3
I actually spent quite a bit of time on the skyscape because I wanted to make sure the cropped 1600 and 1280 versions don't look like crap, and I ended up tweaking some of the clouds a bit more so all three versions are actually all slightly different ;D
P.S. To the judge who suggested blurring the vector bits - THANKS. Awesome suggest which I carried out in this final version - wished I thought of it earlier! xD;

This is pro! I DID think at first that you just vectored right over a large scan. You fooled me =) You definitely matched the style of the artist, especially by taking such an interesting step by framing her within train doors. Very interesting! It really gives the feeling of "welcome to my world" as it looks like we are taking a peak at her through the doors. 8) Artistic and appealing, even if on the other hand, I can see why you did it because it'd be a super *****to complete the scan on both sides. But hey! I say, if there's an easier way to get it done that looks good still - go for it. It actually makes the piece much more interesting.

I'm not a fan of Yusuke Nakamura faces, but this one is an exception since she's looking down XD But yeah, there really is not much that can be added to his (her?) scans, haha. And this one is just perfect for the theme! Good job on the extending/fixing! Fav!

I really like this wallpaper - and you're right, the original scan is gorgeous to work with. I like that you left it looking as original as possible.
Good luck with Round Two!

I saw this on the MT Knockout website and i love it. Simple, yet it fits the theme really well. I also liked how you added in the other side of the train's doors, so that it looks like it's opening up for the viewer. It makes me feel like i'm entering some kinda alternate world. So it's a nice concept and well executed too. :D

I am a fan of Nakamura style, and here I see a new face of how to explore his nice works... so dark! Loving it, but I think the sun could be done by another way since you already added the black doors... it's just a little detail, don't worry about!
+FAV this nicely done wallpaper.

Love your idea of having us see her through train doors. It really adds a greater perspective to the scene, and I couldn\'t even tell you used any part of the original scan in it! Very well blended. This contest is really producing a lot of great wallpapers <3

I love the contrast of the black with the other lighter colors. Very solid. The theme of being absorbed in your own world is very interesting, and something I truly appreciate. Thanks!

I really love how you've built on the original scan so naturally that your additions don't seem out of place with the original art :) The sparing use of colour makes this all the more dramatic, and the bouts of red and light blue really stand out well, emphasing the focus of the picture. Great job! :D
