I see you smudged and smoothed the background and it looks so much better like this, it makes the character pop out more. And you know my obsession with clean, smudged lines and how I'd just like to smudge everything here, lol but I really like the style and how you used the colors to make it wild and serene at the same time. I'd just add some catchy, minuscule and catchy text to the right to fill out that space perhaps but it looks okay like this, too. Yay for some originality and challenges. XD

Yes! That impressionistic watercolor style is very nice. If it took you a month I am very thankful that you did not give up on all of the effort. I could talk about this one for a long time, but in the end I have already said all that there is to say. That is a magnificent wallpaper and I will add it to my collection and let it grace my desktop, additionally I am going to call it a favorite and, let it have that honored spot on my UP. I try very hard to be harshly selective about declaring someone's wallpaper a favorite, or even commenting on anything that I consider less than a top tier effort. This wallpaper is definitely a top tier prize. I really mean it when I say, thanks for sharing.

This is gorgeous. I think the messy strokes gives an excellent feel to the wall. Definitely well worth it! The colors and style are awesome as well.

Tbh when I first looked at the thumbnail. I thought it was a watercolor of Minmei from Macross lol. I was like, "Daamnnn... she looks hot in this one. Maybe it's a scan where she is older."

I like these messy wallpapers because it expresses creatively and freedom. As I have mentioned on a wall before, even though it's all messy it still has a rhythm to it. Which leads it to me to calling it organized chaos DX.

It could just be me but I like the original one better. The current version does make the character stand out more. But I like seeing the strokes pre-smudge. Not sure if it is my eyes messing up but it looks like the final version is more greenish compared to the pre-smudge. Maybe the smudge would work if it looked like bigger strokes instead of a bunch of little ones. I have no idea since I would need to play with it.

It would have been cool to have the stroke motions going in curvy paths going across horizontally. It can look like wind blowing from behind her. Similar to Van Gogh's Starry Night on how he draws the sky and clouds.

This includes colour/contrast changes, or even bg changes. Perhaps she is against a sky, or her hair is blue. Or she's a vampire. Whatever floats your boat! But when it comes down to this I have to ask myself *why*. Why would I choose this paper over the original scan? What do you have to contribute to it? What will you do to make it your own? Perhaps you feel like you did this, but to someone who has no intimate knowledge of the process you went into, I feel like you just painted a copy of the original. I understand it's hard work...I can't do that myself, for example, I still think that I'd be interested to see you take it to the next level.

this is one unique style of wallpaper when I saw this in full view I said oh wow this just looks like those paintings displayed in museums and exhibits! it's very artistic indeed! But I have to admit I like the one in presmudge - it gives a firmer look and stroke to the character

it is a simple style but not a simple picture and it is amazing. if you lock close you can see how it is created but in distance it has soft lines and warm colour.

i didn't see the scan in full size but the pic linked to in the text and the finished wallpaper is stunning ( hop i dont use word i dont know, mean perfect)

Objection~! You didn't notice, but BG is different from the original ... but I guess, you didn't see that because you were too busy looking for blue hair vampire and color contrast. Did Angel_Zakuro ever said "Oh, I want her blue hair vampire?" Why is it wrong to draw/edit like original picture?

Good for you. That doesn't mean everyone thinks that same way, when they see this wallpaper vs original picture. Have you ever thought that almost all the monitor is wide on the side and not on the top and bottom? Maybe that's one of the reason people choose this wallpaper over the original one. Maybe some people are too lazy to edit to fit on their BG? Maybe they like the BG more than original picture? Maybe They're fan of Angel_Zakuro's wallpapers? Maybe World is flat? Maybe... Maybe... and more maybes. There are countless reasons people choose this wallpaper over original picture. Good for you, that's how you choose your bg, but it's pretty pointless statement.

Also add to that statement of yours, I sure haven't seen any originality on your wallpapers. I saw all seven of your works, but where's blue hair vampire? Where's your originality? Where's your color contrasts?

If you don't like my criticism, then next time write better Positive Criticism because your comment sure wasn't positive criticism.

BTW Angel_Zakuro I like this wp, cuz I said so! Not cuz color contrast or originality or other BS stuff. Cuz I said so and that's good enough to add to fav!

i still think its toooooooooooooooo much messy and im sad you didnt take mine and storm's advice T______________T....now that i look at it i think her eyes are strange, there is no whiteness in them, she looks like an alien this way, cause its hard from all the messiness to see at least the white of her eyes. but overall, nice idea :0 love when people use tablet often ^^ cause thats not seeable these days much. and benjamin's art really is pretty :)

someone with your artistic skills, shouldn't have low confidence because i've flicked through your gallery and every wall was beautiful. but to tell you the truth this is my favourite wall, it just stood out to me, it's so beautiful and stunning, it reminds me of when i was painting using hot and cold colours^^ a~h good old days^^
