It's been too long since last time I touched PS, the pressure of matric year is far beyond my expectation, almost feels like my spare times are drained out without reasons.
Anyway, the final chapter of Kara no Kyoukai was released last year, it marked the end of an era for me. I've never been so excited over one anime OVA, it was the best, most brilliantly executed anime OVA I've ever seen. Many critics might disagree with me on this, but this is not the important point.
As the title suggests, this is the last wallpaper of my Kara no Kyoukai wallpaper series. (Unless rumored Chapter 8 comes out) I've been working on this image for almost half a year, since the time Chapter 7 DVD was released. I tried to re-create that final moment of the OVA - warehouse, blood, Shiki's tears..I've been out there, taking photos of abandoned warehouses, factories, unfortunately non of those images came out right.
The image was left abandon in my HDD for 6 months, until recently when I had some breathing room from the study, picked up this project again from there.
The background image is a stock photo a friend of mine found, no author names were available, but thank you so much for it. Shiki's scan was done by myself, DVD's cover.
About the image itself..I tried to capture the final scene's weathered emotions, as well as the dirty, dark atmosphere. It's the only time where Shiki cried, and the last time she'll ever cry. So I used heavy contrast to bring out that sense of anger, desperate, but more importantly, love. There were two versions of this scan available, one with her eyes stare into the emptiness, one with her eyes closed. I used the second one because it has a stronger "Sad" feeling. The first image made her looked like a "OMFG I just killed the final boss, where is the staff credit?!" type of character.
Anyway, I hope you people like this final wall of mine. I don't think I'll touch PS for a really long time....Unless something surpasses Kara no Kyoukai is out there.

Excellent work! Some of the blood stains in the background seem to contrast a little too heavily to seem realistic, but for the most part a very well done piece. Glad to see another person who's hoping they make a "Recalled Out Summer" movie. |(n_n)|

the atmosphere in this is intense. nicely done. it really conveys what you wanted, it's so dark and dirty, and the pose you chose for her really shows the sadness, pain, and maybe slight relief.
it's obvious that you were caught on the moment of the scene, and felt the emotions therein needed portrayed. great job with this. makes me want to see the show now.

The concept and composition is really nice. Love the darkness that this wall implores----although the BG could use some more blending with the character. Other than that, great job. ^^v

This wallpaper caught my attention maybe because it's kinda striking among the latest submission thumbnail because of its darkness ^^v

caught my attention because I felt like it may be grunge, it is but not - yet I'm amazed. I'm not familiar with this anime but I love how packed with emotions is your wallpaper. there's sadness, some kind of calmness and satisfaction (at least this is what I get). anime image blends perfectly with real life image, you did a great job on it. I usually dislike wallpapers without any text but this time it's perfect.
great job!

Great choice of images. Kara no kyoukai was really emotional, and I think you caught the atmosphere of that scene very well on that wallpaper. I really like the overall composition, everything fits, and I'm glad you didn't spoil it with some glowing cheesy text like many walls contain lately, the image just speaks for itself. I only find it a tad too textured and grungy and the red in your sig hurts a bit because it's so much stronger than the red in the background. These are minor points though, and it doesn't change the fact that this wallpaper is a great piece of art.

The theme makes sense.
My only gripe would be the background -- you need it to blend it even more with the character, otherwise, for me (and apparently some others), it doesn't look right.

BT-FK, this proves it. You cannot possibly be human. There is no way someone can come up with so many incredibly creative and visually pleasing wallpapers. Even more so that so many of them are set in the TYPE-MOON-verse.
I knew that Kara no Kyoukai was going to certainly be a unique experience, but I didn't except for such beautiful story craftsmanship and amazing visuals. Hands down, I completely agree with you. This also reminds me that I need to get around to finishing the series. Due to time restraints, I had to stop watching before everything was released.
First off, this wallpapers really shows the fruits of your labor. To take such time to go to all those different locations and try to find just that right look for the background can sometimes feel like it's next to impossible, especially when it's something you're looking for (but never when you're not) and I completely agree that even if it's slightly off, it can sometimes completely ruin the image your going for. This, however, is flawless. Mixing something that's drawn with something from real life can really create an uneven balance for obvious reasons, which is why I really tip my hat to those that work with the original image without vectoring/re-cging it. I wish I could of seen the original photo you worked with, because I have no doubt the changes you made were significant at the very least. Shiki fits flawlessly with this background. So much so that if you didn't know any better, you'd think she was originally part of the background image. I especially love the blood on the floor and just the dust/particles hit by the light, with these two things, they really bring out the mood of this wallpaper.
I'm really glad that you used this image as well, for it truly conveys her emotions. One can't help but to feel sad as you watch her and the background does so much more to aid with that feeling as well. As I said before, you did a great job of fitting Shiki with this background and making it look very natural.
I don't know what else to say. Part of me is incredibly say that I may never see a wall from you again, but at the same time part of me is really glad. Should this be your last work, it's a fitting number to go out with. By far one of your best entries.
