I love Benjamin he is like my all time fav mangaka. Every piece is so full of emotion <3
Anyway I started out with
Then cropped it so that it would fit the resolution I wanted. After that I started out by repainting the background with my own strokes using Sketchbook Pro(awesome program by the way.) I used the paint brush tool for the background and the felt tipped marker for the clothes. I decided not to mess with the skin since I knew that I would only mess up. The hair I started with the pen tool throwing on loads of color(especially red) I then threw a blur over the entire thing and put some more monotone colors over that using the pen tool again. I chose the title merely because I was listening to Pete Yorn's Crystal Village. Hope y'all like! There will be plenty more Benjamin walls in the future from me- I love the art!
PS- Critiques are welcome but don't be mean about it. (Or I'll call up my good friend Mr. T and he'll pity you into the ground.)

Wow this is amazing!!! The colours are just so in your face!! Love it. And the wing is lovely, i like how its not actually all white but different colours.

yep,agreed with Horseradish...you should have painted it in whole,and not just partially,and his hair could use more work,just a few round-edged lines isn't attractive at all..

Oooh, nice use of colors and feeling. Some may think it's a bit scribbly and weird, but I really like it. It's going straight onto my desktop for a while.

I have just seen you wall for the first time, and I think that it is a terrific presentation of a style that I really like; when it comes to character studies. Take a look at this wall,it look amazing. What a piece of art.It looks like a real person,like it exist or something. That's why I want to keep drawing so I can draw something like this.
