I looove the painting job in this - especially the vast dunes and Ed's small figure amidst it all - it gives that sense of grandness and freedom. Lovely job on the lighting, too - Ed really fits in. Great job! :)

Very beautiful wall.

The first thing that caught my eye were the clouds. They are smooth but crispy at the same time. All the different colors make it very interesting. Not sure how you did it but the sand feels like sand. Not grainy sand but a very fine sand that is like a powder. All the contrasting elements of color and light make everything pop out.

I just really wish there were high resolution versions of widescreen :(. It's a still fave though because this is a fantastic piece of art.

My god, this wall has so many ingredients for me to hate it and I actually still don't know if I like it or not. But firstly, congrats on getting Featured and for making a fantastic looking wallpaper. Because it sure does look amazing. The scene is epic, the color-palette fantastic and your drawing technique very admirable. Out of personal preference though, I'm not fond of the style. I hate lens flares and get annoyed by the fact that Ed and the middle pyramid are slightly offset to the center. Yet still there's the magical look of this wall that makes me appreciate it. I had the same with Anbuu's FMA wallpaper, which is pretty similar.

So yea, count on me to be a tad negative, but in the end there's no doubt that this wall is simply very good.

It looks like the lighting on the dunes comes from different sunshines and there's no shadow from the main pyramid; considering that the sun is so low in front of the pyramid there should be a long stretched out shadow in front of it. Other than these two things the wallpaper has a very nice quality to it and I can see why it is was highlighted :)

I have to say this is certainly one heck of a wallpaper, but there are a few things that just rub me the wrong way. Don't get me wrong, this is completely worth the highlight and I think it's outstanding that you created everything from virtually scratch. That alone deserves the highest level of praise.

Ed is unbelievable. Not just the character itself, but the level of detail. Most of the time, you never see this caliber of detail on something so small. The fact that you didn't skimp, even when it came to this speaks volumes. The lighting and shadowing also just set this over the top and really please the eye.

Now, this is where things start to become a problem with me. I've never read The Alchemist before, so maybe if I had it would make more sense with Ed being in an Egyptian-styled background. I know that FMA had a bit that sort of feel going on throughout the series (or at least the original did, I haven't kept up with the manga or Brotherhood) but I guess for me it just seems a bit..random. Don't get me wrong, random is a good thing and in this case, it's freggin' amazing, yet I can't help but to feel that this wallpaper would of been better suited without Ed. Especially with the insane level to the sand, to the pyramids, sky and sun itself.

Another thing I have somewhat of an issue with, and yet at the same time is my favorite part of this wallpaper, is the clouds. For some reason I just do not like how they look in this wallpaper. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting and it's suppose to be more of a sandstorm and while I absolutely love the insane level of detail paid to it and this alone makes the whole wall for me, I just don't like how it fits into the background. It's also a shame that the wallpaper wasn't set around noon to mid afternoon, that way we could see those gorgeous pyramids better instead of not getting much of a glimpse of them at all. There is so much great detail here that it's a shame we don't get to see hardly any of these gorgeous pyramids. Even though sunset is my favorite time of the day.

I don't want you to take it the wrong way. I LOVE this wallpaper and I love the thought and detail put behind it. It takes creating from scratch to a whole new level and as previously stated, completely deserves to be highlighted, but things here and there kept it from being a favorite to me. Still, fantastic work! You deserve every bit of praise you've gotten for this!

I read the book too. It's one of my favorite novels!!! :D I love how you incorporated the storyline with this manga. When I read the book i noticed a lot of things in common too(such as the philosopher's stone and stuff). The details are amazing too. The background is looking very good, the scenery is nicely done. But in place of those pyramids, the scene of the underground city from the first series might've expressed this a bit better, as it is quite large as well, but there isn't just size to it, there's more. Looking at that ghost city under the setting sun you can see here would've looked very good. Ed fits to this scenery as well though, nice wallpaper.

Nice wall, very strong atmosphere. It somehow reminded me of Anbuu's FMA wall immediately when I saw the small thumbnail on front page. There are some flaws on the lighting and I would have liked those clouds to be a tad more fluffy, but overall this is a great piece. Nice atmosphere and all, great job.

Yeah, I know you got features and all that, kudos, but to me the wallpaper feels a little flat - as in, there's no sense of depth between Ed and the pyramids. The golden border of light around him also looks strange, and the clouds ESPECIALLY are fake-looking. It's not a terrible wallpaper, and I like the concept, but it could use some reworking IMnsHO.

The whole wallpaper was awesome, but somehow it didnt feel quite right at first glance, and then i notice what was causing it: The sand dunes were, well, incorrect. Sand dunes in the same area when formed, are usually curved in the same direction, and not opposite of each other. I know it may not be something significant, but it contributed to making the wallpaper look weird to me. Other than that, love the coloring. :)

Wow this is amazing! Were you by any chance inspired by Paulo Coelho's book: The Alchemist? Because if you were you've completely blended both alchemic worlds into one! Personally though I've never been much of a fan of novels and books (except manga...). This is the REAL wallpaper that'll make me follow my dreams (referring to the novel if you've ever read it).

I'd like to add that it's not just insignificance compared to the world. It's also insignificance compared to time. The pyramids aren't just cool buildings - they're also the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing. They've seen millennia go by. When I first saw this image, it was the monumental weight of the world's history that seemed to be looming over Ed. Will he be able to overcome it? Will his actions be worthy of a timeless memorial? Will the End be the beginning?

When I saw this wall at first, I didn't think it's a good wall, not only the background, but also the character are all normal.However, I find it's really great wallie when I think Edward and the theme of this wall. This author use the contrast of background and character to show the difficulty of alchemist——Edward. Edward is small, the world is huge, but Ed has to challenge this world because he must save his brother and himself. This wall does reveal this thought, the author uses the desert, which means the difficulties in future; uses the black clouds, which means the confusion of future; uses the pyramids to hide sunshine, which means the concealed truth. Edward is only a small human in front of those, which are the things he must defeat, all of these are the theme of this wall. Surely, the background is awesome, the details of cloud and pyramid are natural, which reveals author's carefulness. When I see this wall, I remember the ending of Full Metal Alchemist: Edward surmounts numerous difficulties and dangers, finds the Truth and finally defeats it. Although he will never be a alchemist, it's not important because his brother、his family and his life regenerate. It will be sky and sun instead of desert and dark cloud. Maybe I have said too much, thanks for your wallpaper gives me so many feelings. _(._.)_

The perspective, the cloud rendering, and every attention to detail makes this one of the most amazing wallpapers I have ever seen. I love this wall.....I've read the alchemist too and it was just utter divine.....

I've wanted to fave it so many times in the past but there were so many great wall here in AP (especially showcased and highlighted) that I just end up loitering around and enjoyed the walls without faving any of them.....

Now that I got my wall highlighted I have got to fav this since this wall made us wonder how insignificant life is....and it also made me wonder how the hell did my wall got into the same folder as this awesome piece of art...>.<

The wallpaper sure is breathtaking.It will be even better if the author written what are his thoughts when he/she is making this wallpaper.

My opinion of what the wall trying to show is the "The end is in the beginning,"as it is written below the title.

The wall shows that the end is as vast as the desert,even the wall is make up mostly of desert gives a greater impression.

This impression make by the author is very true, as end is always very vast that it can swallow up everything.

As for the beginning,the author makes a very epic entrance which changes the level of the wall.

The great contrast between end and beginning,light and darkness,sun and desert.Excellent way to protray it.Even the clouds that are shadowing the skies are separated by the beginning.

The last part of the impression of the human will have to let author explain to know the full thoughts on the wall.

Very cool wall, I really love the pyramids, as well as the clouds. The blocks making up the pyramid on the right look a bit too large so it gives a "textured" on impression and I would of liked to see a bit more dust around Ed. But the lighting on him however is outstanding.

Really captivating wall. It captured my eyes at first glance.

The details done here are simply fabulous. The background gives off a gloomy atmosphere which really goes with the overall concept of the wall I think.

The clouds and the rising sun behind the pyramid is the highlight of this wall in my opinion. Though the sand could have used a bit more detail in my opinion. But none the less its still a great wallpaper and added to my fave.

I love this wallpaper. I love how the hidden sun's light peeked behind the pyramid. I love the way you painted the pyramids and the desert. It all seems to realistic. It's like I know that the texture of the sand is smooth. I like how you put the right details on the pyramids. One thing that bothers me are the clouds. They are too bulky and solid. They kinda look like wet cotton, especially the one on the right. I think this wallpaper would be an improvement if you takeout the clouds. Anyway, love the fonts. Thank you for sharing this. :)

That's actually pretty cool, a different theme then the regular FMA. Good for a change I suppose, really like the painting effect of the sand. Keep it up good sir. By the way what ever happened to the other brother? He gets no love?

One of the things I adore about your wallpaper here, is that the pyramids stand so tall and seeing little Edward(he would probably want to beat me into a pulp >;) reminds me of the quest. Those pyramids reminds me of that obstical blocking them from their "sun" or goal. You displayed that here. I really appreciate your work in this wallpaper because its tells a whole story and it also reminds not only me but I'm sure others who may pass this wallpaper by, that this is what a wallpaper should look like and do for others, which is inspire them and make them think about the basis or plot of the anime!
