K-On! Some...Lighter Rockstars

** FULLVIEW FOR VECTOR GOODNESS!!!...*ahem*...moving on... **

Quite some time ago, I think I told one or two of you lovely AP people out there that I was gonna try something new with a K-ON! wall (and since then, you guys haven't heard from me again). Anyhow, after getting sidetracked by work, slacking and gaming, IT'S FINALLY DONE!!!~~ . My 1st proper attempt at a simple wallpaper (a.k.a. my K-ON! vector collection dump spanning two anime seasons' worth of OPs and EDs).

Since I didn't really have the slightest idea of what I was going to do when I started, I just started rough and continued by ramming in random details one after the other. Originally, I wanted to do the whole thing in shades of grey but I couldn't quite work out the colour scheme properly so I got lazy, walled everything in shades of pink (for some reason) and desaturated the colours from there.

Just a little tidbit of info, all elements found within this wallpaper are vectors, most of which have also been submitted to the AP scans dept. (short of the mildly gradiented background, gradiented to create the illusion of depth of feel). I don't know why but lately I've become a little obsessed with vectoring (more so after all the vectoring practice I got from this wallpaper).

Anyhow, I'm putting up the 4:3 and 16:10 versions up first and when I feel like it, I'll upload a 5:4 or a 16:9 version up (leave a comment if you have a screen resolution you want made)

Before I leave, a little challenge for the true geeks out there, one of the instruments I vectored has a reasonably significant error in them (I notice the error but kept it like that because it looked nicer that way and I was too lazy to fix it ). Leave a comment as well if you think you spotted the error. =D

Hope you guys like the wallpaper. I'll admit it's far from my own benchmarks of great but I think it's good enough for now. Critiques and other random comments are greatly appreciated.

Lighter Rockstars (Pretty in Pink Version)

By the numbers:- Number of programs used - 3 (Photoshop, Illustrator and Media Player Classic (XD) ) Time spent - Well...I started when K-ON! season one started so...do the math Number of layers - Actually not that many since I'm using AI to vector everything ( []-[])9 Total number of reference pictures used - 44 (31 screenshots from two seasons of K-ON! and 13 pics of the real-life instrument so I could vector in the additional details)

Well, after hearing some of the prelimanary comment, I went on to make a few other improvements. First, I changed the name to "Lighter Rockstars". This title was actually the original title but I kept thinking some would confuse the title with the cigrette ignition device (FYI, the title is meant to be a pun on genres of rock music e.g. punk rock, heavy rock , etc.)

Second, I increased the contrast of the background gradient so the background looks less single-tone. Not really that significant an improvement but it's the best I can do (within my knowledge). Maybe I'll try to go bug @aqiaqua to give me a lesson in rainbows (XD) if she even knows of my existance . Seriously though, for those who prefer a little more colour, do check out the pink version. Though it's not my cup of tea, the pink colour scheme might better suite those looking for a more vibrant desktop (or those who simply like the colour pink)

Oh ya, and if anyone was actually wondering, the kanji is each character's surname, not given name. I never actually thought that each one of them would have such complicated names (their given names especially).
