A pretty long story behind this wall. The theme for this contest is 'The Human Condition'. So I originally went with some Honey and Clover wall, and calculated it'd probably take me around a week to finish it up. I had this scan as backup just in case I didn't like the H&C wall. When H&C was getting a bit too hard, I began thinking up of themes for this wall, which was originally him being in a scene of carnage. ANYWAY, real life came along and took up a whole chunk of my time. I was left with three days to work with the H&C and the Gantz scan. So I said, "Screw it." And voila.

Difficulties... I'd say would be finding the stock images. I didn't know what the dots were called in the background, so I ended up searching for keywords like 'Night city', 'night lights', 'exposure night' (which yielded some pretty interesting results), and etc. I didn't have a camera with exposure option so I was left with some crappy stocks from google, sxc, and deviantArt. To be honest, I cheated a lot since nothing here was painted or created. All of it was stock =.= I'm lucky I even got a decent score for the technical aspect.. lmao.

Anyway, expect one or two more walls from me! I think I'm gonna finish up my H&C wall and complete my original concept for this wall. I hope you guys enjoy this nonetheless.

EDIT: Almost forgot my manners! Thank you so much to the judges and congratulations to my opponent! The criticism really helped and I'll keep them in mind as I make other walls.

First! (I hope) *_*

Well, I only can say that I like a lot of it. I'm great fan of Gantz, and is good see very good walls of this anime, that the people don't wall so much. ^^ I think that it combined with the theme. "Be alone" is one of the conditions of the humans that happen more these days, and Gantz is the perfect serie to show it. So, for me, the title and the wall combine so much. I liked of the light effects, the "night lights" . I love walls on this style, and you do a very good job. Kei-chan is perfect, too (specially because of this face). ♥

For me it's perfect. So, +fav! ^^v

Ah, hope see you H&C wall soon! ♥♥♥

I like the bacground effects, they are making a great combination with the scan. This is really nice dark wall, it's mood is awesome~

I really can't wait too see everyone's interpretation on the theme. It can be such a wide variety and taken so many different ways and I really like yours. I have never seen or read Gantz myself but I love this wallpaper! I love the lighting and the background. It all flows together so smoothly! Nicely done! +fav

Lol. xD I think the term you were looking for is bokeh (which I once googled frantically too at one point). But even so, with the crappy stocks you worked with, I think this turned out quite nicely.

Your wall is really great, also from the view that Gantz is in a serious lack of really good new wallpapers. The effects after Kei have really life, despite the lower details and the text is very good, despite of simpler font. But as a long-time waller you should aware of proper resolutions, 1900x1200 is nothing what this fulfills. You are 20 pixels off for 1920/120016:10 ascept ration. Since you didnt write anything about why it such resolution, I take as mistake. I might fav if you fix.
