Ah, it's so awesome~ The colors are fantasitc, they pop and catch your attention. Rei looks blended in so well and I think her expression fits perfectly.

Back in 2004, what brought me to the anime wallpaper scene was a heavily tech-styled wallpaper of Rosette from Chrno Crusade. While I found out the style itself different from the original origins of tech itself, this is what drew me in. Years later, it's nice to see the source return and combined with such style and care.

When a lot of people think about retro, it's hard not to think of the classics. Neon Genesis Evangelion, Trigun and Cowboy Bebop. Hell, if you lived in the United States, odds are these were the series that got you into anime. I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing the original NGE artwork, and I'm so glad you picked this fantastic scan of Rei. Mainly because her facial expression fits how her legs are dissolving and how her head itself is beginning to merge with the background. If it was intended or not, the wallpaper **perfectly ** conveys the heavily emotional aspects of Rei's character throughout the entire series.

Oh the background. When I first saw the thumbnail, so many memories came flooding back to me from the past. What shows me that this wallpaper succeed with what it was suppose to do is solely based upon that alone. You not only worked with a tech based grungey-style, but you also gave it an nice amount of love and care to it. Bringing in all of your skill that you've developed over the years. As Kitten mentioned, the colors are rather soothing and easy on the eyes (which is a rarity for a tech based grunge bg) but they fit perfectly with Rei's colors as well. It's plentiful in amount, but not so much as it overwhelms you completely. To me, it's achieved a balance, which I think is a first for this style.

To me, this wallpaper truly represents what a lot of us older members either were about, or enjoyed viewing in the past. Even the text itself brings back a great deal of nostalgia. When a wallpaper can bring about so many memories and still be something that will end up on my desktop, then I think it's achieved what it was suppose to do flawlessly.

noms wall < 3 This is definitely old school, the mix of grunge and the renders works perfectly. Unlike Cyan, I think that the text looks rather modern than old school and for me that creates a sort of tension to the wallpaper, which is always something cool. I'm curious on how the text would look if it was blue.

Psssh, you can't down talk our roots like that. Loool. I think this was big for everyone on MT (Actually, AO did it a lot too). You guys made different walls than we did, it's weird. Around at the same time, same idea, different styles lol. Same Render Clouds though. 8D

Only complaint is that I find the render on the left super distracting. Otherwise, thanks for the memories lol.

Quite a nice job! Really liking how her leg is dissolving. :) The one c4d on the left (in the middle) doesn't quite seem to have the same flow as the others around her. Great entry for old school!

so this is old school eh? [strike]before my time[/strike] It's actually quite refreshing compared to the current superclean style. Love the drama and contrast in this, and a bit of grunge is good too.

The render are superb! Did you do them all yourself? I'm totally in love with them, even more than with Rei lol. Great wallpaper, I really like how everything blends in. I only would have loved a less noisy version, for me tech-styled stuff is all abt sharp and clean and so on, but that's prolly just my personal preference.

For some weird "fate" reason I couldn't see this wallpaper in my recent wallpaper list by friends. So, now -finally- I can see it and comment on it as it deserves. What i like the most is the way the female character is placed in the energy waves-clouds ( i hope you don't mind me calling them this way) and the effects used on her left side of body. It does remind me of some old wallpapers seen in AP that made me join this community, so thank you for this wonderful memory.

What really good about this wallpaper is that the background and character really blend nicely. Blue really works well with Ayanami Rei. Good work. +fav

Great wall of Rei ! Since I am still using the icons on my desktop, I added a quick gradient to the left, and works wonderfully.
