Hi! Haven't done anything in awhile it's been a really busy summer. I saw this scan and had an idea instantly.
I started out by extracting the characters from their white background, I then added in a blue sky background that I painted myself and along with extending the wall they're leaning against. The wall was probably the hardest part and I'm still learning about painting on the computer in general so please don't be mean about it.
All in all I think it turned out well it took me around two hours or so in total while listening to first Angel Heart on the TV and then Cobra Starship as sort of a chaser. Hope y'all like!
PS- Critiques are welcome but don't be mean about it.

I think you did a good job with the extraction work but the extention of the wall seems very smudged and uneven compared to the rest.
On the sky - the cloud pattern looks odd with them placed with large spaces between each other and in my opinion the clouds look like brushes than painted since the details look more 'real' than painted clouds.
Not trying to be harsh but there are aspects of the wall that can be improved cause its a good simple wall.

LOL You said you painted the sky, but they don't include the clouds do they? They're either stocks or brushes. The scan extension is smudgey and messy and little was done to hide the graininess of the scan. I'd run this wall through Session Zero first. Basically this looks like you extracted a scan and slapped it on a blue canvas, then claim to have painted the background.
Twice you ask not to be mean about the critiques... As if you're expecting there to be some harsh criticism...

aw, i like it! it's simplicity is what makes it nice. the only critique i can offer is to maybe make the colors more powerful next time, heh
