Ooooooooooooh my God, I am so pleased right now. I actually started the vector in February, using the following screenshot.
After making the base outline and the tattoo (minus the text) it sat for months untouched. Then about a week or so ago I decided I needed to start working on this again. Well, from there I started modifying the shading, and working rather obsessively on the hair. Which turned out so nice, in my opinion. Seriously, I'm kinda giddy about how the hair turned out. If I had to name my absolute favorite part of this wall it would absolutely be the hair. Then I added a slight shadowing on the scar and softened the shading on the skin. Then began the text... if there is a place out there that lists the actual text on the tattoo I couldn't find it. So I decided to just kinda wing it with texts I could find. For the circles of text I used ARS MEMORI�. I know that they should be all kinda perfectly shaped around another and that the biggest one doesn't but I actually really, really liked the blank, crescent shaped space created by not fitting it properly. For the tiny text between the tails at the top of the tattoo I used Verse on the Threefold Sophic Fire. Trying to space it so it didn't look like fit somewhat nicely in there was harder than it should have been and left me with a bit of a headache. I suppose it wasn't so much hard as it was tedious. I then decided the scars needed a little light on them to make them look a little more natural. Well, that about ended the image of Riza.
Then came the background, fitting Riza onto it, etc. I used a circle from the anime when I vectored in the circle that's on the background. I decided I wanted a grungy, red looking wall so I used reds, concrete images, some papery textures, and so on until I got something I liked. Then I decided what the heck and used images of embers and fire on the image with different layer effects, cropping, opacities and blah blah blah.
Anyways, I hope people like this. I'm, again, rather pleased with it, if only for the hair. Crud, I need to stop being so darn pleased with the hair.

Nicely done! I love the smooth colors and the vector that you made here. The colors are great too! Making the tattoo glow/burn adds a really nice touch to this wall, although it doesn't seem to blend with the skin. Anyway, still love this one. <3

I love the way you did the hair.. It is wonderfully done!! The colour chosen for this wallpaper is very shining and good too! The logo and the tattoo is neat and well constructed compare to the screenshot... One thing i think you can improve this further is to make the tattoo more convincing by giving it more contour as the back of the human is not flat... So the tattoo should be "deform" in some way...
