Here is my blurb from DA plus some:
After a tad bit of a foot/heel injury at work, I finally managed to get my vector of Reiga-sama done (as featured in PASH!).
So naturally I needed to make that into a wallpaper for at least personal use. But I also know that other may also like Reiga and want it too. Maybe.
Yes brush strokes! I love seeing strokes of brushes, so yes they are intentional. If you hate brush strokes, leave.
I just got PhotoShop CS5, upgraded from CS2. Lots of things to learn, and things to locate... Some tools have also been tweaked. But this is OT, sorta.
In the PASH!! pullout there was a window that I've decided to keep for this wallpaper. Tweaked of course.
Choppy brushes, visible strokes, all add to the feel of dark magic/energy.
The vector featured in this piece (does not include the window) can be downloaded here. Keep in mind credit must be given if you choose to use it in anything. // coming soon // **edit: AP doesn't really like me today or it's just too big so DA link here.
I'd like to think this is one of the best works I've done so far. (personal opinion naturally) Seems only fitting to have a stained glass window for this imagery, as was in the original scan, only not as colourful. I actually used a background from a previous wall (07-ghost) for the window. And then for the main background the filter was applied to the original concept for my Luka wallpaper, which was a blue background. But why the brush strokes? I from time to time do oil paintings. I personally love brush strokes, they add to lots of things. In this case it's a personality trait, or an attempt to create something 'wind-like' to mix darkness with light (stained glass window). So that covers the comment above about brush stroke haters, yes? I get comments from time to time stating 'vectors are not stickers' or 'brushes aren't meant to be seen' and then well wtfness comes forth. At this point I read what comments I get and sometimes i listen. XD
cheers

Perhaps if the "magical energy" were blurred a bit in some areas, there would be a sense of depth. Right now it serves more as a distracting texture rather than an element in his environment. The whole piece seems rather flat because of it.

Yay, an Uraboku wall, I don't think there's enough of them, Reiga-sama's vector is top notch and I like the brush strokes and the actual stained glass window, I do think the repetition of the mosaics are a bit too strong in the rest of the wall or maybe they need to be blended a bit better. I like the cherry blossoms too, overall I think it's a cool Reiga wall! fave~

I like this. Even though I prefer a much clearer BG as my desktop wall. But still, its good.
