I really like the concept of this, though i think some things of it could be imporved. I think you news paper bg shouldn't be so flat looking... its makes it almost uninteresting to look at a little bit. Maybe making it alittle dark as well to match the vector of light. Also i notice you've got a like cut out or something going on about his hair. Its not so nice... its a bit distracting ... and unatractive

Also the blood could be a little bit better, though i love your writing very nice :3

I like the concept as well, but it looks too plain. I think you should remove all the blood and go with some kind of vector spatter brushes instead because it just looks kind of odd with this, the look could work with something else though. On the background you could add some kind of paper texture and vary the text in the paper to be more typographic. (make some words larger to add emphasis, maybe even change the colors of some) The headline could say something a little more polished like 'World's Greatest Detective Found Dead (or World's Greatest Detective Dead At Kira's Hands)'.

I think you shouldn't use gradients because it's supposed to be newspaper, am I right?

And maybe brighten the wallpaper a little bit. Otherwise it's quite nice.

Something extra that might make it look more like paper would be some paper textures, but I think you might need to experiment a bit with it.

The blood looks like it's floating above the paper and not staining the paper. I don't think it should be that shadowed.

But the concept is really nice and the text is well done!

love the concept but agree with the flat looking and the blood doesn't look like... real specially the letters but still nice idea i mean the newspaper thing

The concept is really nice but I think you could've still played more with the BG and text. Like, patches of newspapers instead of making it as a whole. Also, I think Light's skin is kinda dark. LOL. Still, great job on this one. ^^v

Remove the white from his hair and I'm in love with it. Also blood is only bright red as it loses warmth - the fresher it is, the darker it is.

Waa, it's little time I hadn't seen a good Kira's wallie he he (9+_+) I really like the black-white style and the newspaper background I think it's really worth my desktop >:3

Cool!!! I love how there is only shades of black and white in the entire wallpaper. Though the color theme is nice, the position is a bit messy. The white line in the middle (it is not even in the middle) keeps making me feel like the wallpaper is folded like a newspaper, whether or not it is your intention. If making the background looks like a newspaper is your intention then the main view spot (Light) should be either on top of the white line or to the side (either left or right). The white line just keeps giving me the feeling that the entire wallpaper is disconnected. Notice how the characters to the left is manga style while Misa and Light (who is also tilted to the right) on the right is so anime style? Other than that, the newspaper looks somewhat plain and unsuited with the blood theme. The theme of old newspaper may look better suited with the blood theme. For example, this one has nice position (font floating all over the place), while this one gives the feeling of rusty murder theme, and this one has nice edges (ignore the folding). The blood also looks very plain. If your first intention is having the blood on the newspaper, it maybe a good idea to scatter it around instead of having all the blood at one place beneath Light, it gives the feeling that it is Light's blood or the blood is Light's shadow. If it was your intention to make the blood beneath Light then Light's position definitely need to be changed. Over all, the wallpaper may need some more attention but it is well done.
