This is yet another one that has gone through several revisions. The original scan had slashes in it that I thought about painting red but that idea fell through and eventually I decided to scrap it and go for a more simple kind of wall.
I started out by painting the character to eliminate some of the grittiness that the original scan contained- it was a manga page by the way- I decided to stick with the grey because it seemed to work. I chose to make her eyes red because in the anime Anri's eyes turn red when she becomes Saika. Also I think that the red helps add some extra color- but not too much. After I was finished painting I extracted her from the background and put in a gradient and some slight effect lighting. Then came the matter of what to do with the sword. In the end I decided to have I love you spilling out of the hilt because Saika essentially wants to love everyone in her own weird way. I also put in some brushes in at the top as a sort of explosion.
In total this wall took me around 2 days of painting and typing- it sort of made me hate typography- but hey I think it turned out nice. (n_n)~

ok really, i like the way you arranged the text. that's really cool. it'd be nice if you mixed it up a bit more though, find a poem you like, or song lyrics, and spread those out in there. then in the middle where it all meets, adn it's just a black mess of illegible letters. mixed the values up a bit, so there's some gray, some white, some black. so we can somewhat read it. also, mix up the values on teh rest of the text as well.
the red for the eyes. doesn't stand out the way i think you intended it to. it's not quite saturated enough. also, the character is kinda dull against the bg. either, make her more dynamic herself, or make the bg more of a contrast against her.
the abstract brush you put by the top of the text isn't quite right for this either, it's a little too messy as is.
this wall has great potential, so give it some more work to fulfill it.

The idea with the blade is pretty cool.
You're going to need to work on extracting a bit more. It looks like it got erased away. I suggest using the pen tool to extract images.

This is pretty cool and eye catching, though your extraction needs work like @Tens has said. Another your idea for the sword and the way youve used the type face it pretty awesome. Though the brushes at the top are so appealing to to me And i think your bg is to simple..even if you were going for the simple look this is slightly too simple.. because there is so much empty and unappealing space. Also it would have been nice to see some nicer shades on her to bright her out more.

This wallpaper really caught my eye because of the unique typography it displays
The only thing bugging me in this wallpaper is the brush you used to connect the typo and the sword and also the extraction of the character.
The rest is nice though keep it up!

Great job but I have a few complaints. First, I would have prefer if all of the blade replaced by the text "I Love You". Maybe have the words spill out from the top of the crossguard. Second, at first glance it is kinda of hard to distinguish the handle from the rest of her body. This is mainly due the the coloring. Maybe you could darken the handle a little. Other than that, you did a great job on this.

This is unique, and I like the concept.
But, there are a few flaws - at the beginning of the hilt, the blackness needs to be lowered to be even with the start of the blade. It might just be my monitor, but there is a slight yellow streak coming out from the blackness that doesn't fit. Also, I feel she should be darker as a whole to stick out more, especially her dress / body - a darker gray, almost black would do nicely. Or, you could add a black/white gradient for the background and do appropriate blending on her from there. I think it would also add some zing if you did deep red text mingled with the black.
Besides those things, it's a great start for a wallpaper with high potential!
