Another vector I completed ages ago, I think I vectored this about 2 years ago and I even had many different wall attempts of it in it's original B&W form and different color variations. I was never satisfied with any of them. I've always loved origami, and there's something so wistful and fragile about this artform. I found various origami stock photos, vectored them and applied different gradients to give it that papercut look. The whole wall is of course vectored in Illustrator then I applied my fave texture and blended a few sections in PS. Maigo means Lost Children and the manga is pretty upbeat but pretty much most of Homerun Ken's artwork has a bit of melancholy and mystery behind it. I wanted this wall to be pretty much the same, a bit surreal and kind of dreamlike. My fave parts are the cranes and the different hints of color. I enjoyed making it even if something simple took so long, hope you'll enjoy~

Ahh, it's such a melancholy but sweet scene. I especially like the little 'ripples' beneath the origami and the interesting mixture of monochrome and color. The wall may look simple but there's just something about it that makes me want to hug them both...
Nice job! :)

Aw, this is so cute. So sweet and unique! I love the idea with the origami just being in color. I'm not a fan of the flowers...the lighting on them (I guess) just makes them a bit off, but everything else is stunning! *faves*

Aside from the charismatic appeal of the characters demeanor, the thing which drew my attention to the wallpaper and which stands out the most to me is the way you used the colors on the flowers, and the particular choice of colors as well. I actually appreciate the use of pink because for me that color represents unity, and it also helps to direct my attention to the characters display of affection. The colorful flowers works perfectly against the monochrome tone background which gives the wallpaper dimension and depth, they also help to bring the characters into contrast. A spellbinding tension is created between the detailed flowers in the foreground and the defined yet subtly textured, and distinguished characters in the background. This deserve to be added to my favorites, thanks for sharing!
