As I was going through my DN manga, I happened upon the image of Light smiling at a dying L. It had to be the most iconic image of the entire franchise, apart from the "JUST AS PLANNED!" scene.
I'm sure most if not all of you recognize this wall as a parody of Obama's most famous campaign poster. I was in the mood for a bit of irony, so instead of giving you hope I brought forth DESPAIR.
Much respect to Shepard Fairey who created Obama's HOPE poster, as well as some of the most iconic pop art this generation has seen. I did a quick search for an "obama" tag in the wallpapers section and Tama-Neko's excellent wallpaper came up.
This wallpaper is quick and easy; it took me about 5 hours to create. But I'm cheap so it's all good. My first design had buildings and shinigami and stuff but it did not work JUST AS PLANNED so I took them out and opted for a clean BG. What gave me the most trouble were the light blue horizontal lines. Took me an hour to get them right with the pathfinders and whatnot.

In my infinite wisdom, I deleted the other version of this instead of uploading a new one. I was having trouble because I set the dimensions to 1900x1200 instead of 1920x1200. and it never dawned upon me that I was 20 pixels short until I deleted the other version. Yep, smart move indeed.

Your wall and your icon and YOUR signature is really creepy. LOL. Maybe because of his eyes. (XD) Other than that, this is a pretty neat and cool wall. Everything is executed well. Plus, I love the font that you used also. <3

Nice job.
An interesting concept to apply the poster on to an anime character. I've seen it done with generators but nothing beats manual labor.
Only change I would do is to make adjustments on the highlighted part of his hair. I keep itching to make it contrast against the background instead of matching it. The left side just seems less interesting than the right side (2 colors vs 3). Maybe make it that tan color or a combination of a light blue and the tan color by tiering them.
Just my opinion though. The wall is fine the way it is.

Didn't see this one coming.
Nice take on a pop culture icon! It has a lot of parody to it. Obama being the most powerful man in the world, and Kira the most diabolical teenager in manga history. On the technical side, I think it's already great the way it is. But the artistic side is really what catches my eye. The word repent is very open ended and aptly placed in this wall. To some it may sound like "Repent, and thou shall be saved" or it may read as "Repent, you miserable cur!". Whatever it is it's great. I would place the word "GOTCHA" but I think I'll get a lot of flak from a lot of people.
Great job on this, isteb. I kinda imagined this as a slap on the face kinda thing for APPLE(you know in movies after doing CPR, and the guy doesn't revive, the hero slaps the face and shout, "live, dem you!"). And oh, I really think that the 5th image in the process pic was the most pivotal step in the creation of this wall.
Fave in my book.
Now you've done it. I'm this close to starting that Death Note wall.

Interesting remake of the Hope poster! Vectoring is very smooth and the font fits perfectly, though I have to agree with Tens about the coloring but it's a minor thing.

Very hilarious wallpaper. I laugh every time someone used the Obama Campaign coloring logo. Light's signature grin is definitely a win in this wallpaper. Very nice paying homage to the US with the coloring. Nice work.
