Your vectoring has this weird way of transforming the character somehow, her face differs from the one in the scan. It's not a bad thing, it's just interesting and I wanted to point it out.

I think you did a wonderful job vectoring her/painting her. The colors are vibrant and the painting is very smooth all around her. I like that you placed her in the center and added the clouds around her on the bottom, that's the best element in the wall I think. She looks like such a fabulous God of some sort, the BG supports that idea fully. And it doesn't lack like some other walls that focus so much on the vector and forget to give the BG some love, it's nice to see you worked on both lovingly. Great job.

Nice light! You did an awesome vector, although the green on her hair is a bit weird...maybe it's just me... Otherwise, that's gorgeous!

I love the colors and symbolism behind it - it really does remind me of the mythical phoenix rising in the fire from the ashes. The skin is very smooth and nicely painted and the background is nice, too. I also like the colorful hair but although the individual strands work fine on the crown of her head, the strands in the hair flying around her make the hair look kind of...too uniform and stiff. That's my only complaint.

Other than that, nice job on this!

Congratulations on making the first Olimpos wallper for AnimePaper (maybe also Minitokyo , will check later) You always move my finger to a big "thumbs up" creating a wall from unwalled categories. Im somehow filled with all that mainstream wallies here. Interesting to see a unusually colored sky. His face looked me weird on first glance, but painting is often like this, I need get used more to it. Yay! You finished and it looks so shiny and fabulous. *___* I for one love the green in the hair - gives a nice accent to the wall's overall orange-red color scheme. I would say it would be nice if the edges of the flying hair strands were smoother - there are some hard and pointy edges here and there. And if the leg on the left continued down past the ribbon/cloud thing instead of being cut off by it (it's like that in the scan) because with the more realistic scene you made it appears he has a missing foot that way! @.@ lol But really good job! Was looking forward to this. :3

She really looked like a goddess and ditto to what Kitten said about you changing/distorting which is really your style. It seems like you always transforms something into your own OAA in one way or another while retaining some aspects of the scan. Not everyone can do this ^^

This is absolutely stunning. The image is sharp and perfectly integrated, the colours pop off the screen, and there's so much going on in such a simple picture I find my focus fixing on one aspect only to be drawn to another.

Very nice work on coloring the hair. The colorful colors you used on it kinda reminds me of Vitaa's wallpaper which i think is a refreshing way of drawing out the highlights in the hair. It's nice to see that you've done a clean and crisp job on the hair. But i do wish you softened the edges a bit to make it blend more with the background. Other than that, i think you could've used a different shade of color to do the shading on her face. Everything else looks lovely though. I love the background. < 3

This another nice one J. and I would not fret too much about the difference between gods and goddesses. My memory of the instruction I had concerning the lesser gods of Greek mythology is that their beauty was transcendent; like that of the Kouros in western art, or Bishōnen in Japanese culture. I have previously added ‘Regret, Resolution, Redemption?’ to my desktop collection and I do think that, 'Rise of the Phoenix' is a nice companion pairing, but as far as I am concerned the ’Rise of the Phoenix' stands out on its own. It has a feel that is pensive in nature. There will surely be days when I will see this one appear in the rotation of my desktop wallpapers and it will match my mood with precision. I like the colors and overall theme. I am hard pressed to put it into words but the basic statement is I just like this one; a lot. Thanks for sharing.

As a commenter pointed out, the face differs from the original - quite a lot. I'm not sure whether it's bad or not. Other than that it's a truly magnificent wallpaper. Thank you very much for sharing :).

I remember when these scans were uploaded. I was going, "Oh wow they're all beautiful" and assuming they were women. Then later on I was surprised. : (

The wall kind of looks like a summon in a game. I imagine the screen blacks out and all of a sudden you're in space. Explosions everywhere and then this guy pops out to unleash a flash of hurt.

The painting is smooth and I like the colors used. All the clouds or mist look really good. Especially the ones wrapping around his feet. It's a great combination of airbrush and smudging to create shape and tearing (what I call those strands that come out of clouds). The background is just simply amazing. It's something I would imagine in an epic scene. There's a good amount of stars and the cloud overlapping the planet is interesting. The character is done beautifully. I like the concept behind the hair. It really remind me of a chameleon changing colors.
