BECK Welcome to the Show

Great job on the wallpaper, I really like the concept behind this one! I've never seen Beck, but you really got the feeling of the show behind this wallpaper (aka, music!). Simple but scenic is always a nice touch, and this one has really improved since you first started showing it to me.

Adding this on to my favorites!

It's good a nice clean look, nice vector and composition, which is to be expected of you lol. However, I kinda feel this wallpaper could have had better lighting coming from the door to make it more dramatic; the light just feels fuzzy and just THERE.

That's just personal opinion though. Still a good wallpaper.

Great work on the vectoring and composition. I especially like how you did the lighting. =D I envy people who can walk onto a stage like that, I think I'd run away and hide somewhere. xD;;

gwdwamn! been catching up with the beck manga lately and still got a large half to go but this is just amazing. it really catches the vibe of the series a lot. The vector quality is offcourse great (duh) and also the in-lens lightning coming from the door is well done, it resembles a good visualisation of a hard to create effect. The other decorations are awesome also, nice posters on the right side (good spot) and offcourse time for some critique on it, i dont like the text placing. its a bit overlapping the posters and is to non-beck-like and to awesome-wall-title-text-placing maybe blended it in as a title with posters ore something instead of stand-alone object. again..a very good wallpaper and basically...i dunno what to critics about it...XD anyway, what i like about it is the character and bg combination. it is a unique wall featuring the backstage of a concert hall. the combination of colours to show the tones of backstage and the concert arena's lighting are nice. u can really feel the concert atmosphere by just looking at it.

Brilliant wall. The lightning, the composition... I absolutely love it. It's not too flashy and it's not too boring. And it really hits the same soft spot as the series, which I liked a lot.

Oh no! I missed the concert! it's yesterday! it's looking good.the vector looks nice and clean. and the scene is pretty good.

what I would recommend is to take some attention to the door, the knob, the handle, and also the shadow of the handle. I think the knob need at least one shading and the lines for the handle can be neater. As for the shadow...I'm not sure, maybe make it...thinner (is this the right word?) on the left side of the door handle shadow. And for the posters...are they transparent? *look to the lower part of the upper posters* I just think that the posters can be much better. it's a push/pull door right? (not a slide door). behind Koyuki, does the door go all the way to the left (I know it's not, but it looks like it)? the door is too big >.<

I'm sorry for the critic, I just tend to look at the details.(I always have subjective critic to my own wallpapers, though ;D) but overall this wallpaper is looking pretty good and I like it.

ah.. me feel like a child before the stage XD really good job for this one~ luv the lighting things~ just in my case, a bit blurry for me T.T especially on the door side~ and i think i need more contrast on the stage background XD

I think It's a really cool idea! I can tell you put a lot of work into it. I'm just learning how to vector, and it don't think it's very easy....... (My poor eyes...... x_x) I definitely love the whole idea though, It's different, and it's actually like a picture, which I like. :)

Hello. Just wanted to say that I like your lighting on this one, however excuse me if you will. His left hand looks odd and flat to me for some reason. Everything else has this dimension to it thanks to your handy light work but his left hand just sticks out at me >XD. I'm still trying to get myself to finish a wallpaper since its been...a long time for me. Look forward to your Paprika wallpaper. I need to make one too, since the movie was GORGEOUS <3. Oh I love the BECK anime and I love this wallpaper! It feels very clean but at the same time it feels like you're actually going through that door yourself. Very well done!

I've gotta say, this wall really wouldn't normally be my thing, but I love it. Your lighting is something you've always impressed me with, and you really nailed it to me in this wall. The little touched you added, like the letters on the door and the detail on the guitar, really amp it up. Fav for sure.

usually i hate walls that are so subdued but a super secret about me is that i love gray the best.

I would almost miss it! Seriously, I looked at thumb few times before but I was like "blah, I don't like walls like that" but now I've checked it in full and it's really good o.o I like how lighting is made, looks realistic. Also, even if that wasn't a purpose, the fact that you've not included top of his head looks cool ^^ Vector of guy is a bit simple but guitar is awesome <3

The concept of this wall is simply brilliant and amazing. I've always wanted to watch BECK but never got to it... o_o Anyway, I really love the guitar part in your vector. It's so detailed. And of course, the lighting is awesome. I love the scene behind the door. This is so going on my desktop. XD

Sure, if you look hard enough on this wall you are going to find things that could be improved. The left hand does appear a bit out of perspective, and in reality you should be able to see the edge of the door with that amount of light.

But these details aside, you have been completely successful at capturing a pulsing, electric atmosphere that seems to emanate from that incredible lighting in the center of the wall. And that smile... yes, I love that smile...

When you firsted showed me what you were vectoring, I knew that this wall would rock my socks. I just wasn't necessarily ready for the level of rock it was going to bring.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I absolutely love your vectors. Probably my favorite part of this wall, though, would be entering from behind the crowd. I've actually never been to a show to where they've done something like that..and figuring that the performers would be mobbed by the crowd. I have to say, what you chose to do looks GREAT. So much better than the lame idea I suggested =P. The foreground also looks quite nice too, what with the nicely constructed door and the addition of the posters. Text fits is rather well also. Combining the two, they just fit perfectly.

Overall, this wall just meshes everything together to really give the feeling of being at the concert. I've always imagined what it would be like to be a rock star, and this wall gives me that feeling. To me, that is something that I find very rare for an artist to do, or to such a degree. Great job, as always, Kalico. It's a favorite for me =D.

I love the tone of this wall - especially around his smile. Lots of anticipation in one static image.

The banners on the right look a little awkward, like they're not really stuck on the wall...(somehow I feel like there should be tape around the corners...but then again tape isn't always visible).

Overall though, love it :). Lighting, creepy smile, anticipation.

I think what really makes this a good wall is the light effects and the dramatic scene of entering the stage for a live performance. It really is true, since this wall really reminds me to my first on stage performance with my old high school band 2 years ago and I really dunno what anime is this but I'll try to watch it. The lighting in this is awesome, looks great on the char and the soft light coming from the other side of the door gives a great feel to this ;D one thing i rly like is the texture u used on the door, how it has scratches on it. and the vector is niiceeeee. though things that bug me a bit is the image you used for the concert going on outside the door. its a pic of RL concert? and the transparency of the posters, u can see under @&#95;_@ and the lineart on the door handle is a bit wobbly. im too insanely picky, ignore me lol great job :D +fav.

Beck is one of my favorite animes; the music is the best part. I haven't read the manga but i've seen what the faces look like(x_x) . So because you cut the face out im finding it hard to find something to focus on in the wallpaper. Theres the posters on the right and the character on the left so i keep looking back and forth. Once in a while i look at the middle but my contrast is too high ~(@&#95;@)~ not one of my favorites from you but i can't say i could do better.

Ive never seen the anime, but this wall still gives me that sense of anticipation and excitement. I like the lighting and how you have the gap in the door at the center of the wall. The composition makes the eyes start for the sides, and trace to the center making it as if, you yourself are entering that door.

The posters on the wall are a very nice addition to conveying what is happening. And your vectoring is very good too :) I'm even more impressed with the shadowing, and how you managed to keep the light coming from the stage to a soft glow that doesn't overwhelm the rest of the wall, but manages to capture attention.

I've been waiting for a good scenic BECK wall (mainly because i've been too lazy to make one myself), so thanks for the awesome wall. +fav

I haven't finished the anime and actually put it on hold but I always love watching or seeing something that has to do with music and band so I search for a wall of Beck.

I love this wall. Overall composition of the wall is great - love the light and shadows. It's new to me to see a light in the middle of the graphics, so I found it unique.

Amazing atmosphere! :3 I actually can imagine standing there myself! I really like the lighting of it all, it has this mysterious feel to it ^_^ But I can't really say that I like the title, it doesn't seem to fit in there to me... But it's a great wall anyway, without any question :) As I said the most amazing thing about it is you actually feel like you're standing next to him x)

Fantastic paper. I really like the unique approach that you took, it adds interest to the paper and makes the viewer feel that they are going through the door as well.

You're right about the fact that Koyuki is not really nice looking at the beginning of the anime. The drawings were not so good back then... But this is a great idea + great piece. Nice job on the vector - the guitar turned out really cool.

Like others have said, the concept on this wallpaper is great. The whole scene really draws you in, and details such as the posters on the right add to this. A very suitable title has well. *thumbs way up*
