Finished on September 30, 2010... I'm not sure where to really submit this since there is a "Flunk Punk Rumble" and "Yanki kun to Megane chan" category. But I decided to put it in the original Japanese title. -_-
I'm so getting hooked to the Yankee-kun to Megane-chan manga. I love the simple story, the progress, and the character development. The only problem is that the scanlators are taking too long to translate the manga. But I don't mind, I can wait.
The wallpaper shows Hana Adachi and Daichi Shinagawa, the two main protagonists of the story. I like their love-hate relationship and I decided to make a wallpaper as fandom for them.
This wallpaper is quite challenging because its my first time of trying a simple yet pastel-colored wallpaper theme. I'm more into upbeat, vibrant and super bright wallpapers (currently in my dreams). But I like the way my wallpaper turned out.
It took almost one week to make (because of the f*cking school activities) and it took (surprisingly!) 62 layers... take note, that I didn't include the layer masks :P
The wallpaper is inspired (and named) from the song "Your Doll" sung by Sunny of SNSD/Girl's Generation. This song is very catchy. I was listening to this one song while reading the whole series. Personally, the song fits with Hana and Daichi's current relationship situation.
The bg is actually from this one. The "Yankee kun and Megane chan" title color is from this one (the color corresponds to the original Japanese characters shown on the scan).

Not bad for using a render~ It reminds me a little of a website layout; the idea of combining text and images on the right is nice, but it feels a little too crowding and overloading with colours, in my opinion. By the way, I think you should use a larger text size for your signature (next time). Keep it up~~~

Good work.
This is definitely a step above your previous works and has a lot of appeal to it. Though I dunno what the manga is about, the light hearted appearance of the scan and the colors of the background definitely blend, for me. Typography of the title is good, nice touch with the manga scenes. The text in the bottom still needs a bit of improvement in my humble opinion. But, this is an otherwise good work.

It's yankii kun to megane chan (or flunk punk rumble, for some publishers)! hooray! Finally, a wallpaper from this category.
Normally I would consider any artwork with more than 3 typefaces to be an affront to the rules of good design and a threat to national security in general. But it just fits with the manga's nature so well that it actually works in this case.

I forgot why I stopped reading this manga long ago.
The color scheme of the wall is very soft like marshmallows. Oddly enough it makes me want to eat those "smarties" candies. Delicious sweet and sour chalk candy :D~.
I actually think maybe a light texture over the background would make the wall look a bit better. It's just that the render is textured and it's against a solid colored background. So it kind of sticks out.

The only thing that can make it better would be vectorized scan, and then the text at the bottom could use a little more variance in color and quotes.
